  We opened the shutters in our room to see a superb view of the famous sassi of Matera. The staff at reception went out of their way to help us check the details of the next leg of our journey and the friendliness we received left us with just a desire to return soon.   Closeness to town, once we got there, being only 50 m or so from the main street. Really good to have a garage too, which was a key reason we selected the hotel - Good clean hotel, friendly staff. Very close to the old centre of town and shopping street.
