  A great location to explore Matera and its famous Sasso on foot. We were lucky to find free parking next to the B & B. The rooms are very recently renovated and stylish, with vaulted ceiling, rainshower with mood lighting and modern touches.   The was my best hotel experience, ever! This place exceeded every expectation I imagined. The owner, Fernando, was charming and a delight to talk to. He has lived in Matera for 22 years and has been in charge of the restorer action of the property. It is incredible. My wife was overcome with tears of joy when she saw the room. The rooms are made out of c - Host and owner Fernando sets the benchmark of hospitality in Italy. Generous and helpful, he booked us tables at the most interesting restaurants nearby and filled us in on the fascinating history of this interesting town (over grappa). The rooms themselves embody this history and are each different, without sacrificing luxury. Simplicity as well as attention to details. Thoroughly recommend.

  Amazing cave room - absolutely HUGE! Believe this was the best room and it certainly had the wow factor and provided a unique experience. Lovely outside terrace too.Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious and generous. A fabulous experience and would highly recommend a trip to this amazing place. - The location in the centre of Sassi is perfect. The amenities were excellent, we did not want for anything and outstanding views right in front of the Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.   We absolutely loved our stay at La Forresteria. We spent one night here and the staff was so warm and kind! We had a wonderful 4-course meal in the evening for a good price in a dining room that was so beautiful and genuine. We choose the superior room which was very beatiful and cosy, I don´t believe I have seen a bathroom this nice before...
