  We opened the shutters in our room to see a superb view of the famous sassi of Matera. The staff at reception went out of their way to help us check the details of the next leg of our journey and the friendliness we received left us with just a desire to return soon.   Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.   Amazing cave room - absolutely HUGE! Believe this was the best room and it certainly had the wow factor and provided a unique experience. Lovely outside terrace too.Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious and generous.   This is a gem, staff delightful, rooms great, food excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel is not by the sea, but has an excellent pool. The area is fasinating, particularly when we were there in May. We stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. - Staff very helpful and charming.
