  One of the most friendly staff what we met during our trip in Australia. From reception we got nice advice for other spot points in Rockhampton and a recommendation for there restaurant which one was a great advice.   Clean and comfortable. I very much liked that they caterered very well for smokers with facilities outside each room with nice little table and chairs.   Plenty of parking, easy access, we stayed in one of the large rooms which was very comfy, and no intrusive traffic noise. No complaints about anything. Staff were friendly, Steve was very helpful. All-in-all a very good stay. It was totally booked out when we stayed.   The friendly relaxed atmosphere and such helpful members of staff! The restaurants food was delicious and very well priced. Only 4 beds per dorm room and as not peak season the lodge spread us out so we had rooms to ourselves.   Our room was large and beautifully clean. The breakfast was excellent (we could have had cooked if we had wanted it) and the Manager, Geoff, was friendly and efficient. - While staying at Gladstone palms we found the motor in to be very clean with a great shower and a comfortable bed. Reception was very helpful and courteous.
