  This property exceeded our expectation. The staff were only house sitting for the owners but you would never have known. They were so pleasant and helpful that they should think about doing this kind of thing on a regular basis. The rooms exceeded our expectation as did the setting.   We felt like it was our home, warm and cosy and the gorgeous dining room and lovely breakfast. Our hosts Liz and Nigel where friendly and made us welcome.   Our stay here was an "old world" experience, wonderful. Not just somewhere to stay, it was like going to a play or the opera. Such a privilege to stay in a 1800 heritage building. Lydia and James made us very welcome and provided an excellent dinner by the fire and also a wonderful breakfast. We stayed in the suite overlooking the river.
