The Clarence is a multi-award-winning, adults-only boutique hotel located just a short walk from Portsmouth's seafront esplanade. This Edwardian residence has been stylishly converted to offer well-designed and individually styled rooms with a luxury bathroom. Free WiFi is also available. A full à la carte cooked breakfast is served each morning. The Clarence Boutique Hotel offers a small on-site lounge bar and guests are able to dine at the hotels boutique gastro pub serving a unique menu plus beers, ales, wines and cocktails. There is also a fine dining restaurant serving luxury beverages and gourmet food, both just a 3-minute walk away. The Clarence is just a few hundred yards from the seafront and close to all of Portsmouth's major attractions, including the waterfront development of Gunwharf Quays, Spinnaker Tower and the world-famous Historic Dockyard. Both of Portsmouth's main train stations are just a 5-minute taxi journey away, and the nearest airport is a short car journey of 25 minutes (Southampton).

Wow! Our stay at The Clarence was absolutely wonderful! We were greeted by Vicky who was very welcoming. Our evening meal was amazing! Simon, the chef, was of Masterchef Standard! We loved every morsel! Our breakfast was served by Paula who was fabulous too and the food was excellent! We loved every moment of our stay! We will be back. I have stayed at many hotels and this one has got it spot on in terms of service from staff, all staff behaved as if it were their own business and they were welcoming you into their home, cleanliness - was spotless, comfort - didn't want to leave and food - dinner and breakfast superb. So much so I have re-booked.

I would definately recommend this new hotel (along with smoked haddock for breakfast!) and will be going back. The room was amazing and total luxury, the staff couldnt do enough to help me in making it a special weekend, the best experience ever and will definitely be going back, if you want to have a special break then you will do no wrong by going to the Clarence, AMAZING!!!!!!!. very impressed with staff especially lauren very polite and friendly.rooms are amazing so much attention to detail.it really is a beautiful boutique hotel we are definitly going back.breakfast is amazing very fresh with plenty of choice.would highly reccomend it. No. For the calibre of hotel i think the bathroom products could have been of a higher standard (molton brown or similar) but this did not spoil the overall experience at all. Not at all. perfect. Had to pay five pounds for 24 hour wi-fi but that's a minor thing - it's one of the beat hotels we've stayed in.I did not like the time they were locking the gate to the parking area. Would have liked tea making facilities in the room.Only gripe is that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Not really a dislike at all, but perhaps the provision of tea making facilities would be a bonus.
