Extremely good value for money. We were upgraded to an en suite room for
the same already incredibly cheap price. Room was clean and the
facilities of fridge, toaster, microwave, cutlery and crockery were
appreciated. Situation was brilliant: ten minute walk from city centre;
bus stop immediately outside for city centre and UEA/Sainsbury Arts
Centre; beautiful Plantation Garden and impressive rc Cathedral
immediately adjacent. Could not answer the question above on staff as

We booked the same day, had the entry code in about an hour, everything
exactly as described, clean, reasonable size room, we will be staying
there again, shortish walk into the city, almost perfect. Obviously you
get what you pay for, if you are expecting 5 star then move on, this is
budget price but above budget hotel/location/room/etc.
I thought this Hotel was incredibly good value for money. Was was expecting it to be a little run down and was very surprised at the quality. I only spoke to staff on the phone but the person was very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.
room 9 absolutely wonderful room on suite toilet and massive shower cubicle, the room was spacious the bed was comfortable and i am very pleased with the acommodation and comfort of room 9.

Very comfortable bed. Hot water and at this time of year Heating. It was
very handy for the city and it served my purpose well.
The room was clean and spacious. Had a fridge and microwave, which was handy as there was no bar or restaraunt.

My expectations were low after reading the previous comments. It is (to
me) an unusual business model, a staffless hotel, but it works
reasonably well. The facilities were mostly good and we made good use of
the toaster and microwave provided. Apart from the toilet, no
significant complaints.

The location near the centre of Norwich is very convenient, with plenty of free parking. It's an attractive building with beautiful historic gardens. Good value if you only want the basics.

The set of appliances - freezer, microwave and toaster - were very convenient and working fine.
For £19 which I paid it was worth it for location and the size of the room however if I had paid full price I would've been very disappointed.
Bathroom although shared was clean. Fridge toaster microwave kettle in room so we could make light breakfast and keep cool drinks.
The close proximatey to the town centre. The price, the parking, the temperature, the lovely gardens adjacant to the hotel.
We heard lots of bad things about this place but over all was pleasantly suprised our room was ensuiet room 17.

On our second night, there was some noise from neighbours - late going
on till about 1-2 A.M. - but not your fault (though sound insulation
could be improved). There were only two sachets of coffee provided and
not enough milk.
2 very very minor things, 1, less then a quarter roll of toilet paper
provided, and there were only 4 milk cartons, see? Very minor indeed,.
For the price ...Nothing !
(Ok - bathroom old fashioned and some wear and tear evident, but at special price of £21 for an en suite double it is unbeatable).
How late it was to check in and had been told two different check out times so not happy about this but apart from this all good.
The rooms could've done with a little more care, the blinds were broken and there's a few other touches that could've done with looking into.
I had to ask another guest what the communal bathroom's door code was (Easier than figuring out which phone number to call).

Only one complaint. The Window Curtain was torn and it looked like it
had been for some time ,and overlooked by the maintenance.
No bar/restaraunt. Should be classed as MOTEL.

Electrics were very dodgy. Kettle came on and off at random on base so had to switch off at wall. Blew my hairdryer when plugged in.
The only thing I was dissapointed about was that our room had no mirror! We were going out for the evening and I had a dressing table to sit at but nothing to do my make up in. There was a big mirror in the shared bathroom but no where I could plug in a hair dryer or straighteners! Not ideal when getting ready to go out.

The toilet was dirty. No room service during our 2-night stay. I
requested extra pillows but no response. The door lock failed (low
batteries), requiring the maintenance-man to call.

Quite a few little niggles; we were given the wrong code for the door, the mattress on the bed was really uncomfortable, not enough pillows or towels, no remote for the TV. And instead of curtains, the windows were painted shut so no natural light which I didn't like!.
Too much dirty spots on chairs and carpet.
The room smelled of smoke you couldn't see outside and the shower head kept coming off.

The uncomfortable matress, the whited out non-curtained windows, the noise from the road and hen parties, Having to phone up for the door codes, all the lights but the main one had missing bulbs, having one pillow per person, the remote did not work.
Could do with more up keep and over hall in the maintenance department as I don't think there is one.
The Mattress was very bad, Very Uncomfortable, Could fell some springs. It was Very Hot as well, No seperate sheet only a Duvet?.
The room wasn't serviced the whole time we were there and we were there for five nights. The room needed servicing at least every other day. The bed was far to soft and the pillows were non existent. The room was far to hot even though we had the windows open.
Horrific noise from other druken guests for over 2 hours middle of the night. Lots of banging, shouting and swearing. If you are a light sleeper or really need a good night's sleep on a Saturday night, this is not the hotel for you.
Could've been a bit cleaner and the shower was terrible.

the mattress on the bed had springs boinging every time you moved so got little sleep, other than that a decent place.
No breakfast facilities, although plates, knives and forks and a toaster were available in the room for diy.
If i had a problem, eg being locked out of my room, i would not know what to do if i did not have my booking info on me all the time.
The communal shower had a block which meant you ended up standing in a pile of water and it regurgitated up a load of hair - disgusting.
My room hadn't been cleaned - i found dirty plasters on the floor. Gross.

Rooms were dirty. Bath had a crack in it. Towels or room was not cleaned at all during stay. Window pane broken but just board put over it. One radiator didnt work and tv wasnt working. Maintenance guy fixed tv by replacing and heating solved by bringing portable heater. Curtains were also ripped. Very poorly maintained for what could quite easily be a lovely place. Management should read the feedback they are getting from so many people and spend some money and improve things.
Bathroom.
No catering, obscured windows, leaking shower,bad smell in room, neglect of buildings and grounds, no reception, bad quality linen, duvet, towells, pillows,tired furniture.
The way the room was how we arrived, very dirty and although it was cheap I feel ripped off.
The general organisation of the different buildings is quite confusing, buildings are not well kept and you have no direct contact with anyone apart from a mobile number that answers sometimes. I would only recommend if you were really desperate.
Bed was uncomfortable with no spare/extra pillows.No staff available
to ask for any more. Tea/coffee facility limited (tea bags tasted
stale) . Showerholder was broken so could not shower freely having to
hold showerhead in one hand. Lack of nonslip bathmat or similar.
No wash basin or toilet in room. No water available except in bathroom where I needed a code to open. No window you could open. No fresh air. Quite cold. Toilet smelled. No decent pillows.
All the stains on the carpet (didn't take my shoes of once),all
the rubbish and bottles behind and under all the beds, on arival no
light bulbs in all the lights (waited 2hours for someone to replace
them) no battery's in the controls, left half a toilet roll for 5
people, thick dust on All furniture, filthy mugs, covers not changed
so had to sleep with my jacket over me and used the towel as my
pillow. Never again!!.
