There is an easier way to go there without using the bridge, but you might have to find it there. It is about a ten minute walk from the city.   Very good location and helpful staff. Simple accommodation but fair for the money. A very easy walk to the Guggenheim and to the old town.   The hotel is very convenient to the Bilbao bus station, which was great for taking the ALSA bus as a comfortable, inexpensive, and easy way to travel from Madrid to Bilbao. Also the nearby bus station is the terminus for an inexpensive bus to the airport. And it was a pleasant walk thru the park to the Guggenheim. My room had two beds, one tv, one desk with a mirror and one bathroom. Wifi works fine and the staff were really gentle to ask if I was ok with the noise (I think they're repairing some things on my floor), or if I'd like to change my room.

  We stayed here for one night and found the staff fabulous. We were emailed once we booked to confirm they had the baby travel cot we needed. They also offered us a baby bath. While there they even shared a couple of toys with our daughter which she loved. The room was comfortable and the washrooms were clean. It was an easy walk to the Guggenheim ... mitä ihmiset sanovat » and then to the old section for a delightful evening of pinchos. - I will return to Bilbao and will definitely stay in Pension Zubia, a budget friendly lodging -Excellent excellent excellent accomodation- clean, ideal location ,warm friendly service.   I am so happy because of this place. Personel was so kind and helpful. Pension was always so clean. I didn't have bathroom at the room, but it wasn't a problem at all, because it was next door and always free when I needed. And sink was in the room. Beds were comfortable. Tv with lots of canals and radio. Close to bus stops. Muchas gracias, saludo... mitä ihmiset sanovat » s!!! - Pension Vista was a nice cheap place to stay for 2 nights. I just wanted somewhere to use as a base. The room was clean and the toilet and shower close by across the corridor. It was a little noisy at night and in morning as my room was above a bar.   The landlady was amazingly friendly and we could communicate even though I dont speak Spanish.   Excellent studio room in the heart of Bilbao - ours had a little balcony looking onto the lovely Old Town street. Clean, spacious, comfy bed, lots of natural light. Very short walk from metro and tram stops, as well as all the old town sites, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The wonderful staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - highly recommend! - Really lovely apartment run by wonderful staff who were very accommodating and gracious to us after a misunderstanding with payment. The owner even offered us umbrellas due to the rainy weather! Apartment is spacious, super clean and right in the heart of Old Town. It's also very close to the metro making it easily accessible by foot and public transport. I would definitely recommend Arriaga Suites!

  This didn't feel like any other hotel, it was like you were staying in someone's home - from the decor to the breakfast to the way we were treated. The double room we got was very comfortable and it looked like a little cottage in the city.
