Lo que la gente dice
We had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and efficient and couldn't do enough for us. On arrival,we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been upgraded to one of their anniversary suites which was very nice and made our spur of the moment trip away even more special. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings and the food and service was excellent. Breakfast was particularly good, with an excellent full Yorkshire, or Whitby kippers on offer, fresh fruit, homemad. todo comentarios »
Friendliness of staff, courtesy, professionalism, cleanliness comfort and lovely food / dining. The themed decor throughout could almost be an attraction in itself (nothing of faded former glory days here). Altogether a most pleasurable holiday stay which would be equally suited to business purposes. A family business working together (and it shows) thoughtfully investing in the business to mutual benefit.
all the staff were very friendly and polite, from the reception to the dining room everyone made a point of talking and listening and the manager took us to see the other rooms which were all fantastic. The breakfast was very very good also the lunch we did not stay for dinner as we had booked on the NYMR steam train which was a short taxi ride away. We would definetely stay there again.
Staff were excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic, and locally sourced. The rooms were gorgeous, extremely well appointed and with underfloor heating. Excellent views from the restaurant across the moors. Location great- easy to find and handy for many of the beautiful coastal towns and villages in the area, eg. Runswick Bay, Staithes, Sandsend, Whitby.
the friendly staff, rooms were excellent with all facilities needed. Particularly liked the courtyard area which was nicely planted with water features and seating, it was a pleasure to have such a nice smoking area with facilities provided for disposing of cigarette ends it was a pleasure to have to smoke outside. The whole experience was perfect.
Loved everything, rooms are set out perfectly on two levels, staff can't do enough for you. Lovely lounge to relax in with roaring fire and food is out of this world. This is our 5th year staying here for our anniversary, we always stay 3 nights and it gets better every year.
The views, the decor, the food, and the staff were so helpful. It is so nice to stay in a place thats not the normal hotel/guest house. Loved the room having an upstairs and all the touches it came with. Will definately be staying there again. Loved everything about it.
Fantastic choice for a place to stay....... would. consider staying again and well worth the stay .... be mentioning it to family and friends for sure. The whole experience of our stay from the room, staff, restaurant, views, could not have been anybetter.
We liked the view from the restaurant, the room was pleasant and comfortable, the staff were very pleasant and helpfull without being obtrusive,it had a countryside location whilst being within easy walking distance of the town centre.
The staff were welcoming, efficient and very friendly, the rooms were of a high standard very comfortable and well equipped and it was well located between coast and moors with beautiful scenery all around.
It is in a very convenient position. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was particularly good.
The food was excellent - we had supper and breakfast, and both were well presented and very tasty.
clean and friendly, well presented with quirky decoration all relating to a stable enviroment. Excellent food and presentation. would be even nicer in summer to make use of the outside facilities.
The room was lovely, had a real cosy, homely feel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was kept cool through the electronic sky light window. The shower was fantastic- hot and powerful.
Everything. Lovely friendly helpful staff.
Food delicious. Rooms very clean.
Location relaxing even in March its so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view. We will definitely visit again.
Courtyard rooms with bed upstairs were lovely-very comfortable and quiet.
food and choice of food excellent and especially enjoyed breakfast in garden room. Would recommend to everyone.
A wonderful location, making it easy to access so many places of interest. The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and a very good wine cellar.
Been once before.
The place, the environment, the food, the rooms very nice and the bed was very comfortable.
Television a decent size this visit.
Could not fault this establishment.
the background story to the restaurant/hotel. The effort taken to retain its integrity.Wonderfully presented and cooked breakfasts. Sitting in the conservatory/sun room at breakfast.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great location in the countryside, on the edge of Whitby. Lovely food and service. Will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends and family.
The venue was perfect stayed overnight after attending a wedding
reception there the grounds the interior and room 1 was amazing when
next in Whitby they will see us again.
Every thing. Family wedding absolutely perfect, staff attention, highest quality round the world buffet, exceptional garden etc marquee, nothing was bother to any staff.
Room was clean and comfortable. I expected to be a bit chilly and it was lovely and warm. Loved the gallery bed. Dinner in restaurant very good. Breakfast excellent.
Positive response when I found the bed was up stairs and my ankles are bad so they moved us next door into the Anniversary suite - when it happened to be our 54th. !!.
The room was lovely and clean and modern. The food was lovely as we had
meals in the restaurant. The breakfast was really good and people are so
helpful and friendly.
The location is stunning, the gallery rooms are nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The staff are very welcoming and professional. We will definitely stay again.
The rooms were very pleasant and well equipped, and the meals were superb, also the staff were extremely pleasant,we will definitely recommend to family and friends.
The whole experiance of staying at the Crossbutts Hotel from check in to check out was fatastic - food , staff , room and hotel location where all top notch.
Ideally placed if you want to walk in the area. Great food. Staff excellent, very friendly. One of the best places we have stayed. Love the accommodation.
The whole time spent at the hotel was a very good experience. Located just outside the town and on the edge of the moors was perfect for us.
The views from the gardens made sitting for a drink sheer pleasure. The staff were attentive and accomadating. The food was excelent.
Beautiful grounds & premises. Excellent food. Outstanding staff -
friendly, charming, efficient and couldn't do enough for you!.
The facilities - having a restaurant alongside the B&B. The setting with super views of the moors and grounds to walk around.
Loved the individually styled room with en suite wet room. Beautiful views looking out from the restaurant. Fantastic food.
Excellent food and very friendly staff. The whole place was very tastefully decorated in keeping with the farmhouse feel.
great on detail restaurant cant fault views great
room a little small but very nice next time would ask for gallery room.
The layout of the Room (3) was great, comfortable and lovely and warm.
Meals were excellent with plenty to choose from.
The rooms are well designed and furnished. Food is excellent and well presented. Staff are very friendly and polite.
Everything. Staff were fantastic, as was the accomodation and food. We know where to stay when we visit Whitby again.
The rooms aare excellent. Only problem is that our bed was on the small side. Food was very good and well presented.
fabulous views, great food, freindly staff, very very clean, unusual carvings on unique furniture, lovely gardens.
Service from staff was excellent...food was gorgeous and portions were generous. Atmosphere was cosy and relaxed.
Family run and every time we visit they have improved something. Nothing is too much trouble Glorious breakfast.
Everything from the room ,to the meals, the setting, the helpfull staff.Made our wedding anniversary very special.
Room very nice , staff helpful and polite . Food 1st class. We have been 5times now and never had any problems.
made very welcome, staff couldnt do enough for us. excellent food, clean & comfortable rooms. recommended.
Very friendly, helpful, staff.
Good selection of excellent food at good prices.
Good situation for touring.
The foods was amazing and staff very friendly. We cant wait to back and take our friends with us next time.
All food was served piping hot and stayed that way. Food was excellent incl breakfast. Staff very helpful.
First class hotel & nothing was too much bother from any of the staff if you required anything.
Superb relaxing break. Excellent staff & first class FOOD. Rooms are clean & well kept .
Some road noise, as the rooms back onto the road. This didn't
bother us, but might some. Otherwise, no complaints at all.
Would have liked a little more sunshine and a little less moorland mist if that could have been arranged.
There was nothing to dislike, however, it would have been nice to have more milk and sugar for the tea and coffee but that was only a minor point.
Nothing we didn't like.
Only very slight downfall at night time .... noise from the kitchen as room attached to the restaurant.
It's nice to have a little fresh air circulating at night so we would leave the Velox open, but that meant that being a light sleeper, I would wake up every time a truck went by due to the close proximaty to the main road. Also I had a sea-food based starter which was a little light on the sea-food.
If I have to search for something I found the communal areas a little over decorated but that is a very small point and it's a personal preference.
I have nothing negative to say.
The room was too hot. Couldnt open windows. Got up in middle of the night and opened door a fraction to try and cool down. There is a skylight window but nothing available to reach up and open it with. Such a shame as other than that its one of the most comfortable hotels we have stayed at.,including Mayfair London.
I liked everything.
The dinner served at our arival on a Sunday evening did not inspire us to have another eveing meal there. No up to the minute menu to encourage us back in the evenings. The "set" menu on a chalk board outside did not lead us to assume food was freshly sourced and the best available on the day.
Nothing.
Coffee in room disgusting ! A fridge would be useful for keeping drinks cool.
The lack of a small desk.
The upstairs bedroom gets very warm and although we had a velux
window which you could operate remotely, it closed automatically on
its own after a time period. Better to keep the window open when it
gets to warm.
We have nothing bad to say.
Cant find fault other than a few too many young children after 7.30pm but am only nit picking with that.
Plastic flowers on the tables.
We found nothing to find fault with.
There was noway to open the velux window which would have allowed some fresh air into the room.
Some of the decorative wood-carvings are a bit OTT.
Small 2-seater settee mad the sitting room element of the accommodation a little cramped.
Nothing to dislike.
Wine was a bit expensive for the type of establishment.
Only down side was the traffic noise being next to the main road.
Some minor changes to the room layout would be beneficial, ie: Chest or
drawers next to mirror/wardrobe. Remove platic plant in room (dust
collector), small tables either side of sofa for cups, information to
include the option of fresh Milk and extra coffee.
Nothing. Everything was good.
Having to leave to go back home.
Coffee served in resturant was usually on the cool side. I think customers should always be asked if they require hot milk with filter coffee.
nothing to dislike, this is a great spot.
A later breakfast/checkout time would have been a bonus.
nothing.

Room small (but adequate).
Room was lovely but very small.
The drain hole in the shower cubicle in Room 1 is not large enough to allow the water to drain away when showering which causes flooding in the bathroom.
