What a lovely hotel Archways Lodge is - friendly staff, spot on cleanliness, the most comfy bed I have ever slept in, kitchenette facilites a bonus! I adored the decoration and the personal touches. Very warm welcome by the two members of staff - one of them went the extra mile and printed a map and directions to a wedding venue in the middle of nowhere!
Room was ready by noon which allowed us to change for wedding.
Whilst no restaurant there was a very useful "kitchen in a cupboard" with some nice touches - coffee, orange juice, crisps, microwave, wine glasses etc.
Plenty of parking.
The "chambermaid" was a hoot!

Manager went over and above to make us feel welcome - we were in St Albans for the half marathon and he was more than happy to let us use the room again after check out time to shower after the race, which was very much appreciated.

The building looks very old from outside but when you go inside you can see everything has newly been refurbished. However, you can feel long past history of the building. The manager Raj is very helpful and polite. He carried my luggage all the way to second floor and also available to help you even after midnight. Room was clean and big enough.

Happy and polite staff. - Clean, with friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely the best value for money in the Greater London area. At the price, you would be extremely hard put to find anything wrong with this hotel. Only half an hour from the centre of London, this hotel is ideally situated. Couldn't have been happier.

rather than an annexe and this was very comfortable. The cooked
breakfast was really good and exceptional value at only £2.50 each. The
local pub was very friendly and served good food at a reasonable price.
I would recommend this B&B for anyone who needs to stay in this area.

Really clean, modern, well appointed and comfortable room.
Hosts were friendly and helpful.
The £2.50 full english breakfast upgrade has to be the best deal in town and the quality is first class.
Even taking the cheap price out of the equation, this is the place to stay in the local area.

Having ready the other clients comments and then staying at this hotel. I had to ask myself if this was the same place. This hotel has charactor something that many modern hotels don't have every room has its own charm and qualaties. If you want a room that is identical to the next where the food is microwaved instead of freshly prepared then stay

The Woodlands Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. Good access. Good parking. Lovely friendly staff. Beautifully clean and well decorated. Loads of space in the room. Great facilities. Terrific large bathroom. The most comfortable bed I have slept. In my opinion the Woodland Lodge is a five star.
