Staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Rooms are well appointed with everything you need. TV with loads of channels, tea/coffee, iron, hair-dryer, alarm clock and phone.
Bathrooms usually have bath with shower over but I have had a room with just the shower which is fine for me. Towels are really big and fluffy which earns brownie points from me.
Bar area is comfy and bar staff lovely. Had lunch here which was very tasty altho a bit pricey for a sandwich
I only used restaurant for breakfast

During my booking I added a note to say that I intended to propose during my stay.
When we arrived at the hotel the staff advised that they'd upgraded us to a business class suite on the top floor. The room and the view was fantastic. Champagne was sent up and it set the scene perfectly to pop the question.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and great service. We had dinner on one occasion and breakfast on both mornings of our stay at the hotel and all three meals wee superb. - easy to get to , facilities were very good. staff were very helpful as one of the 2 rooms booked did not get to the hotel system. I was too late for the restaurant but the bar provided a very nice choice, I had tuna salad sanwich and a glass of wine, just right. The room was fine and the bath and hot water lovely. The staff were excellant, helpful and friendly. They gave us interconnecting rooms for us and our 2 grandchildren age 13 and 11 which was ideal. the room was pleasant and clean, it was in an ideal position for the shopping centre and the Mermaid Quay and the Dr Who experience all within easy walking distance. The breakfast was ok the continental part much better than the hot food.Good choice of drinks and proper orange etc. Good value for what we paid.

It is great that there is parking adjacent to hotel. - Have stayed in a few Mercure hotels now, including Carcassonne and Cologne and cannot fault this chain of hotels. This is definately my favourite chain. As for the Holland House in Cardiff i was a fantastic experience, with great facilities and lovely rooms! 10 out of 10!

The best weekend thanku - The staff were particularly helpful with information for my grand daughter related to 'Doctor Who' . This was the reason for our visit to Cardiff. As a birthday present for a teenager who is mad about the programme. She had a lovely chat to your doormen who seem very knowlegable about the whole subject. The rooms have a wonderful veiw.

I liked the fact that it was located so close to the city that I couldeasily walk to major tourist attractions.
