Everything on the practical side.
The 'room' was a small flat, spacious with a large wardrobe.
Clean towels, sheets and covers in the closets, a small kitchen, which didn't have any pots and pans, or other kitchen ware, but I borrowed some from the young girl who looks after the rooms.

Bathroom, sink and toilet separated into each their space, but it worked well. -
I just LOVE the bathroom! There's a modern hi-tech bathtub with which you can press a few buttons and have the water ready at the right temperature and at the right level. It can even keep the water warm! The ventilation system and toliet are also amazing.
The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and you can take bus to go to sightseeing places. There are a few temples round the corner and creates a very good atmosphere. There's also a public bath within a 5-minute walk distance. We gav

Everything was great! The room was cozy for the six days Ive stayed in! Icy cold air conditioning! The owner's mother who runs it is absolutely darling! And everything was super clean with wonderful service. I liked the area because although I was a bit far from the train station, once you got your head around it, you can get there easily in 15-20

The hotel is actually quite "self-service" but no worries,
there is a staff that will assist you when you check in. She is really
friendly and helpful. The room was very cozy and comfort, equipped with
microwave, gas stove and a pc. I love the bathroom so much, there's
even a small tv inside the bathroom where you can watch tv while you
enjoying your bath. There is a heater and dryer air system in the
bathroom as well. It's a very good facility especially during winter
when you want to take a s

They had everything we could ever want at the Inn. Such as towels, a variety of dishes, tourism pamphlets, coffee maker, bottles of water, shampoo and condition, dishwasher, washer and dryer! We didn't need to bring anything other than ourselves and our clothes.
It was very spacious for 5 people!
There was lots of English around to help us use the appliances!

This is a traditional house that you fully get to rent. It is a traditional house, so expect tatami floors, futon beds, low table etc. It is the real thing, where many other hotels in ryokan style are more imitations of japanese housing styles.

The house and the "Kura" or old warehouse have been reformed
with taste. The surrounding of the house (japanese garden), the wooden
(cypres) bath, the whole of the facilities are amazing. You feel at home
but in the Japanese style. It is unforgettable. We will go again. Better
stay during the week than week-end (price) but it remains ideal to visit
Kyoto. We recommend at least 2 nights to really enjoy the house !

Although we were a bit disappointed with Kyoto sightseeing (kept getting

The amount of space was perfect and we didn't feel cramped. The two main beds are up a ladder, which is strange and felt sort of like a clubhouse, but it was unique. When else in my life will I get to act like a kid again, right? The walk was only a few minutes from Kyoto station, which was convenient. I'm not a picky or needy traveler so it was perfect for me. Clean, efficient, comfortable, easily accessible, and we had internet access. What more do you need? All-in-all, it was a great experie

The people who ran the place were so nice and helpful. They advised me where I should go, what I should do and even gave me a free ride back to the station at the end of my trip. I loved everything. The family that owned the place were extremely nice
and helpful (the husband dropped us off at the station when we checked
out in his car) (the wife gave us tips and tricks, pointers where to go
and which places to check out), the views are impressive, my boyfriend
and I felt thoroughly relaxed staying at their guesthouse, on holiday
away from the big city. It was so cheap, and I wouldnt mind staying here
again when I come back. I loved kyoto and our stay with them most

Nice rooms and experiencing of living in a Japanese house. OK and not too bad for budget travelers and backpackers as long as you don't mind sharing bathrooms (take turns) and no locked doors and interconnected rooms. No problems when we arrive but then again we booked the whole house. Feels like a home stay. -
