The staff at Gion Maifukan could not have done enough to help us. They were attentive without being intrusive and after the first night moved us to a bigger room to accommodate the four of us.

Where does one start with Yuzuya? I stayed for two glorious nights and the place is amazing. Worth every penny: the room is beautiful, with antiques and everything just so. The highlight is the food! I had two dinners and both were some of the best food I have ever eaten. Exquisitely presented on Kyoto pottery, each dish was a work of art. Breakfast was also amazing. blocks away from Gion's corner. In front of the hotel bikes are
available to rent which is very convenient to visit the shrines which
are far away. The hotel rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The

although location is far from city, there is direct JR Bus from Kyoto station to the place. take about 40 mins though. fyi for other traveler as if take JR bus from Kyoto station, alight at Takahanacho stop then walk back about 100m then cross the other side of road. will find easily. staf

Owner and staffs are so friendly. I think he waited for our coming after
I confirmed arrival time because while we were walking to find Ryokan
and almost getting lost, he called us from in front of Ryokan. I was so
impressed. I got a big clean room with garden view and not close to the
street so it was quite and peaceful. This room is what I think when stay
in ryokan. Love it.

help you find your way around with restaurant recommendations (all
good!) and places to visit and how to get there. Clean place, nice and
friendly atmosphere. The japanese style rooms seem to be bigger if you
have a choice (we booked late, our bad). A very enjoyable stay!

Good location, very easy to walk to main shopping area and metro stations. The public bath is very good so we choose not to take bath in the bathroom of our rooms. We stayed three days and they managed three different breakfast courses, all of them very nice. Friendly frontdesk staff who can speak acceptable English. -

Prior to the trip, I had emailed them with queries, and they were very helpful in providing information, offering to pick us up from the bus station. One of the younger staff could speak both English and Chinese, so it made communication much easier.
