Royal Park Hotel The Kyoto . Simple. Everything about this hotel is fantastic! As expected, space is a premium in Japan, but this hotel's plan for our deluxe room uses the space perfectly and with style. We enjoyed two comfortable twin beds with perfect lighting (a clean cotton nightshirt everyday), a modern Japanese styled seating area with a table and cushions, and an exquisite bathroom that offered a glass doored soaking tub and shower compartment. Me and my partner stayed at New Miyako Hotel from 16th - 21st of August 2013. We can easily find the hotel as it's very close to Kyoto station. There's lots of shopping and eateries to choose from. The location was great. In front of Kyoto station. There is a shopping mall at the next block (AEON), where there are many stores, and also Daiso (100-yen shop). The Toji temple was near from this hotel, as well as Kyoto Aquarium. To get to most temples, travelers have to take bus lines, that are just across Kyoto station. Staff friendly. Money exchange inside the hotel.

The hotel was excellent value for money and the buffet breakfast was extensive and delicious.
The rooms were well appointed and comfortable, with more space than expected.
The staff spoke good English and were very helpful.
The hotel also runs a frequent shuttle bus too and from the JR Kyoto train station which is very convenient. -

There are not a lot of places to visit near to the hotel, but it is only a short walk to the stop for the bus to Gion. The hotel shuttle bus is great for getting to the station, from where you can get transport around the whole city.
