Lo que la gente dice
We stayed for 5 nights with Mr Ono at Veada and had a really enjoyable stay. The rooms are spacious and the lovely old house is in a very convenient location near Gion, downtown Kyoto and the subway. The toilet and bathroom facilities are clean and tidy, the bedroom air conditioning was very useful as it was quite warm during our stay. We had no trouble finding the house at 8:30pm using google maps on a smartphone.
Mr Ona is very helpful and an absolute gentleman, he provided us with very usef. todo comentarios »
Our 6 nights at Vaeda were wonderful. Exactly the ryokan experience I was hoping for in a quiet but well located neighbourhood. The house is well cared for, with attention to beauty. There was plenty of space for the 5 of us. Even though it is cold in December , the heating worked well. A warm Japanese toilet seat was a good reward for a nighttime visit to the bathroom!
Our host, Mr Ono, was exceptional. He was all about service, helping us with our sightseeing plans and even lent my son an ext.
The room and the house is really traditional. We were there on Summer so there is no problem with the outside bathroom. Mr. Ono, the owner of this place , helped us a lot. We forgot our luggage in the Shinkansen but he helped us until the end. He offered us Japanese style breakfast which was very good.
To go there by taxi (which is the best way to go there from the train station) , I recommend you to make the taxi driver to call Mr. Ono first. And then everything will be fine.
Sorry it took me so long to write this, have been too busy. Our host is one of the people we met in Japan with great English, he could give us a lot of directions and suggestions in Kyoto. The stay was really pleasant! Oh, and thank you for the photo you took for our family on the first day!.
Haruhisa-san was very friendly and accommodating. Although his English was not the best, it was a vast improvement over most locals in Kyoto. The location was great - accessible via the keihan subway but also within walking distance of all the interesting spots of Higashiyama.
Very nice, Mr.Ono is so kind and this typical Japanese house is very interesting. The location is good.
Traditional style of the house
Access to transport
Hospitality and friendliness of owner.
Feel welcome and this is a real typic place a way to see how some
Japanese can live. Nice location to visit Kyoto taxi is cheap. In winter
could be taff as access to the bathroom and toilets are outside.
The local home stay experience.
No complaints. There were a few squeaky floorboards outside the bathroom - just part of the rustic charm!.
The location was REALLY HARD TO FIND. We looked for the place for more than an hour in the rain. Veada is at the end of a small avenue right across a post office.
It was a bit inconvenient to get up in the early morning to use the toilet because it was outside the heated bedroom and connected to the very chilly courtyard. It was still a lovely experience though.
I will advise to go if you are really open to have experience and your
kids are flexible. In that case you will have good souvenirs and have
unusual experience. Breakfast could be improved.
