To call it 'basic' would be an injustice - its a simple place, exactly how hotels used to be, without the modern frills that many hotels now offer (eg aircon, fridge). What it does offer is: charming and helpful family owners, great location (just 3mins walk off the lake-shore) on a quiet lane, simple accommodation, balcony overlooking quiet leafy gardens. Lovely hotel, great value for money, definitely recommended

Very comfortable hotel and good location being just a few minutes walk from the lake and in the old part of the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were large and clean(we were fortunate to have been allocated a room with a balcony). The breakfast buffet was extensive, including fresh fruit (not just tinned). The great breakfast in the coffee shop right below! The helpful staff. Being right next to the ancient Basilica and that Alba is such a small, interesting, easy place to navigate by walking. It was great being there during truffle season. Francesca took trouble to give us the only room with a balcony on the square.

Easy parking.
We had booked rooms with balcony and views and that is exactly what we got. Breath taking and we couldn't stop smiling as we were shown the rooms. Clean and comfortable.

The hotel seems to be a family business, and the family running it seems
to live on the ground floor of the main building, with hotels rooms
located above. We had a very nice room with a balcony and a wonderful
view on Lago Maggiore. Everything was very clean and comfortable.
The person from the staff we were interacting with was very friendly and helpful, he spoke Italian, German and English (and we did not try other languages).
There is a bus stop just in front of the Hotel.
