Richard and Vanessa have a beautiful small hotel, wonderfully furnished and decorated. We stayed just one night on our way to the South of France. It is a perfect distance from Calais where we could get a good rest before heading on. It is also a lovely area to explore and with some good restaurants (recommended by the hotel owners).

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely location and beautiful gardens. It is a shame we didn't have more time there. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but breakfast on the terrace was delicious and a delightful spot. Woken at 6.00am by the smell of fresh baking bread. Heaven! -

A super quiet and relaxed luxurious hotel with quality oozing. The restaurant meals was really excellent, and good value for money, although not cheap. Puts many pretentious establishments to shame.

A very attractive building and a nicely appointed hotel. When we drove into the town we did not know what to expect, but first sight of the hotel lifted our spirits and we enjoyed a great stay. The rooms were very comfortable (great beds) and offered stylish accommodation. The restaurant though quite expensive offered really excellent food with a enough choice and superb service. We loved the building, which is being restored by the father and son team. This makes each room different as it has been renovated in sympathy with the original. Don't expect hotel chain standardization. The attention of the owners and their welcome was wonderful. The food was superb. We have previously stayed in gourmet hotels in the area and this was of similar standard. over on their way to or from uk given the location, which is well
situated for both Calais and Boulogne. However, the staff could not have
been more welcoming if we had been staying for a week. The room was
clean, quiet and comfortable with satellite tv that had both French and
English channels. We had an excellent meal in the busy restaurant that
seemed to include a party of locals, which is always a good sign.

The owners welcomed us in the warmest, friendliest way, They were very obliging, offering us advice on where to go, what events were on locally and the best routes to get to them. They took time out to chat with us and ask about our trip.

Check-in is until 20:00, so I advised via email of my ETA (later). I received a reply in French, but I got the gist of it! On my arrival there was a notice for me advising me of my room number and 'good night'. There was also someone around, who asked me what time I would have breakfast. He was surprised that I only wanted one breakfast - a double room is cheaper than a twin, so my intention was to enjoy a bigger bed!

Lovely room, wonderful food. We ate in the secondary restaurant and had the 'menu'. This was really well presented and absolutely delicious...as was breakfast the next.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
My good opinion was probably by some of the negative comments on TripAdvisor ..which were very wrong!
