Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had reserved a suite and got more than expected: three bedrooms, full kitchen, living room and dining room. We were three adults, one 9 year old and one thirteen year old, so it worked well for us. It is an easy 15 min. out of the city of Victoria, with a grocery 2 min. away, so was convenient for us. Good place for a multiple night stay. Highly recommend it.

Firstly, one needs to compare the day rate between the Empress and the
Inn. The Empress is only a few blocks away, free parking, free wi-fi,
also doesn't have air conditioning....and is almost $300 more a day.
As I didn't need to spend a lot of time in my room, the size
didn't matter. However, security and cleanliness was key and the Inn
met those very well. The restaurant is excellent. The staff very
friendly and helpful. Although there is no elevator, staff will carry

Loved it! Beautiful Victorian house, apartment was larger than expected, very quiet neighbourhood, kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed.
Ocean Island staff is awesome and always available (there is a phone in the hallway for free calls to the front desk which is very helpful in case you don't have a cell phone)

Amazing value for money! Enjoyed staying in a victorian heritage house, garden and patio in the back were a definite bonus. Cozy and comfortable suite, kitchen was well equipped. Free parking and good wifi. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean.

We were a group of 14 people staying in this motel for one night. Everyone in the group was satisfied for the amount we paid. Despite some of the reviews we read before saying that there's a bad smell around, non of us had such an experience. Maybe we were lucky, or the problem has been solved somehow. Choose this motel if you can't afford a luxury hotel, yet you want a clean place to stay at for some nights. Cheers, Mahyad

I had a private room for a really good price, though small I had a fridge and lots of cupboards above the bed. We loved our stay in this hotel! We got a room with a private bathroom, and the room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel's staff was also very friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is great - was close to everything we needed in downtown. The price was great too! I highly recommend this hotel and we will stay there again next time we are in Victoria.

The location is perfect. It's close to the Inner Harbour, BC Parliament Building and the famous Fairmount Empress. Walking less than five minutes, you will be at the coast. The Douglas Street, which is the street that Helm's Inn is on, has tons of restaurants, convenient stores and shops. You can easily walk a restaurant and grab something to eat.
