Go behind-the-scenes at Sydney Taronga Zoo for an interactive and close up encounter with Autralian wildlife. Feed a wallaby and take photos with a koala during this intimate small group tour which has a maximum of only eight participants. Led by an experienced zookeeper, you'll learn interesting facts about Australian animals as you meet them face-to-face at Sydney Taronga Zoo.
You will firstly have an introduction to Australia's unusual wildlife, including excellent photo opportunities with koalas, kangaroos and echidnas in their enclosures. Next, venture into the wilderness of the Australian bushland where you will enter the underground world of the endangered Southern hairy-nosed wombat and discover some of the mysteries of the platypus.
During your Wild Australia Experience you'll have the opportunity to visit parts of Sydney Taronga Zoo not usually accessible to the general public. You'll visit one of the zoo's kitchens where animal meals are prepared. At Australia's Night House you'll enter an exhibit for a close encounter with the normally shy and elusive wildlife which only venture out at night.
At the end of your tour you'll be served a light snack at Treetops Cafe. Admission to Sydney Taronga Zoo is included so you are free to spend the day exploring the many exhibits and shows before and after your tour.
Enjoy the unbeatable views of Sydney Harbour as you explore the zoo at your leisure. Join the regularly scheduled keeper talks to learn more about Sydney Taronga Zoo's wide variety of animals. Take a ride on the Sky Safari, an aerial cableway from the top to the bottom of the zoo.
Sydney Taronga Zoo's expansive Great Southern Oceans exhibit is now OPEN, providing a fantastic introduction to Australia's marine wildlife. The new 1.2 hectare exhibit features a variety of sea lions and fur seals, as well as penguins and pelicans living in unique displayswhich replicate their natural habitats.
