We were a family group of 4 "seniors" and booked the three bedroom "Top deck" suite and it was ideal for our purposes.
It was an interesting, well equipped and comfortable suite and we enjoyed it so much we bought fish and chips and three bottles of wine and dined in.

Friendly staff, very welcoming and easy to check in/out process. Bridge room was beautiful with a hugh bath which was very relaxing. Breakfast in the morning provided a homely feel and was a great start to our driving day along the Great Ocean Road. Would recommend staying here for a stop along The Great Ocean Road.

Truely loved the accommodation. It was fresh& tastefull. Beds were very comfortable & clean. Loved the walk in shower and loads of bench for bathroom items. Had a wonderful stay in a room with a view. Watching the sunrise from the sea, sitting in the comfort of your room.
The owner is an excellent human being , she went out of her way to help us when we went through a stressful situation due to rental car breakdown.
Wish there were more people like her around to make each of your trip a pleasant memory.
Would definitely go back if we get a chance .

Views of the ocean ( we had a first floor apartment) facilities and ammenities of the apartment(.2 large bedrooms with king and queen beds-TVS in both bedrooms and living room-ensuite with spa bath and 2nd bathroom- 2 toilets- spacious and quiet. Location on the beach road just up from the restaurant/cafe strip. Were given a helpful A4 'whats nearby' run-down and an excellent suggestion by the manager for dinner at 'The Patio' restaurant a stones throw away.
Ample car-parks locked at night and good layout for luggage lugging make it a good road-trip stopover.

Hotel Marengo is just one of the best value for money accommodations along the Great Ocean Road. We booked in the very last minute, in a try to ensure good weather for the trip, and actually, we did it right, not only with the weather, but with our choice for stay one night. Whilst the rooms are now getting a bit old they are very clean and very comfortable. We were given an upgrade to KB Studio and the views were magnificent. We ate at Chriss's Restaurant and it was superb. A great stay all round.

You could see the beach from the balcony and hear the waves crashing. A beautiful half hour walk along the beach into town. Friendly staff, comfy bed, great price. We ended up staying an extra night and would stay again. Right on the beach. Great value for money. -
