What a great old fashioned motel! Drive right up to your door and unload. Excellent price for a clean place to stay for the night. That's all I ever want from an accommodation! Ever. There's no reason you ever need to pay over $50 for just a place to sleep for the night. Plus they had a great pool. We have stayed here several times over the past year. The rooms are very large there is plenty of parking and the place is squeaky clean. The facility is reasonably well located and the price is unbeatable, we have paid a lot more in this area and gotten a lot less for our money.
all reviews » This hotel was very clean and the room was very large. It had everything in it that I required for my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is centrally located in Vista and close to everything. If I need a hotel in Vista again, the Franciscan will be my choice. It was clean. I liked the full refrigerator, full stove, free WiFi. I also liked the friendly staff, the quiet nights, the windows on either end of the room allowed air flow during the day. There is a grocery store in walking distance and plenty of places to eat close by. Manager called me a few days before stay since I had requested handicapped room and one wasn't available to make sure I would be OK in another ground floor room. Room was clean, spacious, fridge, microwave, plenty of hot water, restaurant with good food in parking lot. Room was clean, large and comfortable. There was a refrigerator and microwave. The staff was efficient and friendly. It was quiet and peaceful. A cafe, The Pantry, I think, just in front of the motel, had good food and excellent service, as well. The welcome I always receive when staying there. The cleanliness, and fresh scent of the room when I enter. Clean towels Every day! The basic, comfortable, very reasonable rates, and ease of checking in and out. & the coffee shack right there. Convenient location on bus line and short walk to the Sprinter. Located off the street and was quiet with restaurant in front. There is a McD's on the next block and a Von's across the street. Room has fridge and microwave. A perfect hotel - clean, quiet, comfortable and a terrific pool -- and all for a wonderful price. Also, plenty of food choices close by from fast food to restaurants - all within walking distance. The room is clean, roomy, with microwave, refrigerator and free wi-fi. When you just need to spend $55 for a room like that, you are the most luckiest guy in the world. Facilities were older, but very clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. Freeway was close and reaching the coast was quick and easy. Can't beat the price and the place is old but well maintained by owners. Also, great coffee shop out front. Good food and friendly staff. I liked the kitchen and refrig. We eat alot of fresh fruits and vegetables and it was extremely helpful to keep our food fresh. we liked the staff, especially Pinush Chauhan. She was very friendly and helpful, a great person to have at the intake window. The staff was friendly especially when we came in at a very late hour. Upon departure the staff asked how our stay was. The staff was friendly and helplul on the couple of issues I had with the room during our 2 week stay. The refrigerator needed repair and was the morning after our late check-in. The towel rack fell and was repaired again right away. I was visiting my Mom who lives in Vista. Not exactly a vacation destination in itself, but close to the beaches and attractions. Budget friendly motel, clean spacious" room, very basic "no- frills" facility, recently installed carpet,(no problems walking barefoot out of shower into bedroom!) no noxious odors. We needed a room to stay in after our home closed escrow and before we could move into the next location, and this suited our needs for its price and convenience. It was the closest and really only motel we could get to La Jolla as it was Comicon weekend. The hotel was very basic with 1970's furnishings. It was freshly painted and looked fairly clean. It was quiet. Great shower head!. It was not 8-12 from the sights I visited. Safari zoo and legoland. It was a peaceful neighborhood with delisious cheap Mexican food a short walk away and a pantry breakfast that was also very delisious and economical. The location was great!!!and a great price on a small budget!pool was clean and nice and motel was not crowded it rowdy. Nothing. Everything was great. It was hard to keep the temperature in the room comfortable during the night. We had to keep getting up to adjust the wall unit. A separate sink in the bathroom would have been nice. But they at least provide a mirror near the sink. Not much to complain about. Not the best location, but always felt safe. The only thing I might complain about was the sound, the speakers on the TV were not very good. The old accordian, plastic shower "curtain". Difficult to move and scraped on the metal track with screechy sound. Air conditioner too noisy, but, I slept with the dressing area window open, and slept well with Fresh October Vista Air. Key for door. nothing to complain about. Bed was a little hard, and the tv was on the smaller side. TV was fuzzy, had to keep adjusting the cable. The doors all close very loud. The main doors. I could hear and feel doors closing all up and down our section. Woke me several times. Very little not to like. At least not worth even talking about. Nothing in particular, was a little surprised to learn that I would have had to pay for extra towels, lucky I didn't require any. Color of the exterior paint seems boring. Wimpy back window and electric sockets very loose. Bed was a little on the hard side. no coffee pot. Old outlets need to be replaced as they would barely hold a plug which made using my laptop very difficult. Also, WiFi was ridiculously slow. Nothing!. no coffee machine in room. cig burns on everything,small pillows. could use more guest amenities. No Wi-Fi signal. Small bathroom. Rooms has a smell, wifi signal was very weak. Would like to see better lock like chain from inside. TV needs to be upgraded. Small Bath. Flat pillows. Nothing. Nice place. Communication misunderstanding. Electrical outlets need to be replaced. Not having coffee in the room or a continental breakfast, BUT with the Pantry nextdoor it didn't matter. It was in a good location. I borrowed a coffee maker from my Mom during the stay. It's be nice if a small one was provided in the room. The pool was clean, had no umbrellas or shade of any kind. Some splatters on bathroom walls could have been cleaned. Not your "vacation destination" but perfect for our needs-clean place to sleep with good family restaurant next door and a supermarket across the street, about a couple blocks from the new civic center. The key was a real key (really) and there was no deadbolt, so we didn't feel secure. The mattresses were very hard. The tv is very old!!! The rooms are extremely dated. It was clean except for the outside corner of the bathtub which had dirt and hair piled up in it. The WiFi code did not work with any of my electronic devices. Upon arriving we were belittled by front desk staff.They were concerned our little children would be too noisy for other guests...they also showed rudeness regarding my husbands choice to smoke and wanted us to be in a smoking room so we wouldn't stink up the other rooms even though he only smokes outside.They were also not up @7:30 am when we left to check out and my husband had to go back to the room to call them so they would come to the window.
