Our beds were comfortable, the room was large and it had a big bathroom. We loved the restaurant/bar in the lobby, called the Hurricane Grill. The Food was great, the staff friendly & they had great specials for food & alcohol too. They make the best charbroiled cheeseburgers we've ever eaten. Their wings are awesome too. They are large and they have a lot of varieties. I lived the honey barbecue & mango barbecue. Thanks to this great restaurant, we ate there each night of ou.
all reviews » Rates were very reasonable and close to the airport and not very far from the port of Tampa. The restaurant/lounge attached had surprisingly good food and drinks. The staff was very nice and personable. They were informative about transport to their facility from the airport and to the docks. When my cousin had a problem with the tub in our room, the staff let us into other rooms for her to investigate for a suitable replacement. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied w. The reception area was large, airy and inviting. The receptionist were very friendly and efficient and provided full details of the shuttles to the Airport and Port together with a local map so we could locate the malls which were within walking distance. The free breakfast buffet was excellent with a choice of cereal, pastries, yogurts, make your own waffles and various drinks. For those of you going on a cruise the local filling station next door had a supply of wines for $10 up. A little dea. The customer service was stellar!!! The hotel is under going renovations and they still went above and beyond for their guests! I was injured while staying here (not hotels fault) and the management went above and beyond to help! If you and a couple of friends are looking for a place with clean rooms and comfortable beds this is the place if you want a hotel with all the bells and whistles then stay somewhere else otherwise for the price paid this hotel was awesome !. The room was well appointed with all that is expected in modern hotel room--internet, tv, desk, overstuffed chair, etc. The bed and pillows were new and were extremely comfortable. A really lovely bed. Breakfast was an expanded continental with waffles, cereal, fruit and yogurt. the room was clean, the price was right, the staff easy to work with--I had an unexpected spill in my luggage and they allowed me a later check out without making a big deal out of it or hounding me about when I would be finished, etc. Very cool on their part!. I love the location to the airport. I was happy with the price - $85. I very much appreciate the coffee maker in the room. I would love to have a "guaranteed" fridge/micro" in the room even for $5 fee. Staff is very good. I love the complimentary breakfast. Basically, since I was only there for a few hours overnight, cost was one of my main concerns. Did not even get a chance to check out the hotel facilities. Would stay there, again. The bedroom was ample , very good beds , good shower room , the personnel was very friendly and helpful, close to the airport , you can reach it by taxi for 15 dollars. The large room and very clean. The hotel is in a excellant location near downtown and the airport. There is a nice sports bar located on the ground floor which serves good food. I thought the hotel was very clean. The staff was very helpful and I would definitely stay there again if I visit Tampa. 4 star hotel in my book. They were obviously under construction at the time and were in the process of changing hands, if I recall correctly, so it was a bit torn up, etc., but really not a big deal if you didn't care about 'internal ambiance'. The rooms were ok though. We had around a 30 minute wait at the airport for the shuttle and when it arrived it was virtually full so had to leave 2 guests to wait another 30 minutes for the next shuttle. Landscape but they are renovating so it's understandable. Smoking at premises, room rugs looked strange (maybe dirty), outside the room hallways had dirty walls (needs paint), elevator needs better maintenance, some smelly pillows. Once you took the elevator upstairs from the enclosed lobby, you were suddenly out of doors walking to your room, as if it were a roadside motel. The outdoor corridors were a bit rundown and in need of refurbishing. The staff told me that would happen soon. maybe the bed could be upgraded but it was "good enough" for a one night stay--you could just tell it had been awhile since they have replaced them... I had requested a fridge/micro which appeared on my confirmation. My room did not have the fridge; however the hotel was able to provide one for me. You may want to think about purchasing "more" fridges. They are becoming very popular. Even a nominal $5 charge would not be out of the question. The keys didn't work properly. I had to keep getting a replacement key. The construction. Requested a "wake-up" call. Never received it. Luckily, was awake in time. The shoutle service finishes al 11 pm , I arrived at 11:05. umm the gap between the door and the frame was really wide, it let in a lot of light that was kind of annoying. The carpet was stained so bad ! Tje pool was small and the pool area wasn't eye appealing . The lobby and resturaunt was so so nice and then u get in the room and u feel like ur in a low budget hotel. While there the hotel was undergoing renovations, one of the elevators was malfunctioning and there was a certain amount of dirtiness in the walkways on the upper floors due to construction. no dislikes. The rooms are hit and miss however if you let the staff know they will do their best to fix the problem. Room & hotel had an old feeling. Needs to be refreshed. Cockroach found in bathroom (didnot report to staff), staff was a bit distant and cold; staff didnot know if airline mileage accrual could be accepted (no attempt in finding out); no receipt given at check-out because reservation was made thru letsbookhotel.com. can tell it's an older hotel - carpet is dirty, bathroom is older - but undergoing renovation and should be better. Everything was wonderful!. I did not have a microwave or refrigerator in my room. The AC system was very noisy. Pretty far from the Downtown (15-20 minutes drive). Not enough centrally located elevators (only one); no Kleenex in the room; no protein at breakfast (boiled eggs, cheese, etc) for those of us who can't eat all of those carbohydrates (like people with diabetes, low thyroid, etc). older tv. the breakfast was much to be desired coffee was horrible and attendant was not friendly at all stripe joint next building over pool could of been cleaner. Nothing all good. I was overcharged for my room I reserved the room on an earlier date when I paid for the room when I got there I was overcharged on my debit card by over $500 which put my bank account in a negative balance . the desk manager tried to fix it it took a day but I got my money back it was a very big inconvenience overall as I had no money for a day and a half. Pool area daughter got stung by wasp and no first aid was Available and no t tissue in wos bathroom by pool. Renovatations were underway, but that would be a plus in the future. nothing. An older room but they gave it a good go, updated (more or less). Nothing. Music in restaurant very loud (waitress had to shout to be heard). Rooms in need of refurbishment. It is a little older. the hurricanes and wings restaurant was closed!! bathrooms need updating. Pool was not really clean - lots of dead bugs floating. The place is a little bit old. There were some stains on the carpet. Room we got was dated. Room was one of the older rooms, not many extras (eg: microwave, furniture to fill out room). Noise after midnight, loud drunks returning from the local drinking establishments, room wasn't very quiet- woke me up/kept me up until they finished their very entertaining conversation- about 15 minutes. Glad they had an elevator, one, albeit slow but not broke- thanks God!. noting. Rooms are hit and miss. Check it out and request another if its not fully to your liking. The staff will do their best to meet your needs. The cleanliness of the bathtub in room 219 in which I stayed but saw the tub in several different rooms in which friends stayed which were very clean! Highly disappointed. Pool needs to be cleaned, only one operating Elevator, and soda machine not working. The room had roaches in it and it smelled like someone was smoking in the room.
