Great location for visiting downtown scranton at a fraction of the price of the big chain hotels. It's in walking distance of everything. We've stayed there (under different franchise names) for more than 25 years on many visits to Scranton. I believe those who leave a questionable comment about this hotel are not taking into consideration the price. This is not a $150 night hotel. If that is what you want they are in the area! For the price you pay, this is a good deal!.
all reviews » Great location, walking distance to Steamtown. Clean and tidy, Nice continental breakfast. Everything (TV, air conditioner, shower, doorlocks) worked just fine. Price is right. Plenty of parking. +Spacious rooms, quiet, plenty of free parking, OK breakfast, helpful about getting a late checkout. A good hotel for the price. Rooms were clean and staff very helpful. the price was great and it was pet friendly. convenient location, good price. It was price friendly,,,staff was friendly...parking was adiquite,,,near enuff to outside food stores...plenty of places to order food from... Very convienient to everything in downtown Scranton. Near the University, I felt safe. Easy to walk around. Convenient location for marathon weekend. 3 blocks from finish and starting line buses. Beds were comfortable. The price. Location of the Inn was fine... close to restaurants, shopping etc. Service was fine. Convenient to center of Scranton. Pet friendly location. Cost. Location was easy to get to and parking was right in front. The location was ok. Staff was ok. Price was best in area. Swimming Pool not yet available on a hot weekend, as it was the first really hot weekend of the season, I'd cut them a break on this. Dated, faded air, doors into reception area definitely need updating! Lack of obvious electrical sockets in room for laptop etc. All was what I would expect for a hotel at this price. the fact that i didn't get to enjoy the continental breakfast...haha. There was nothing that i could complain about. room smelled musty, AC hadn't been turned on [so room temp was up], breakfast was bare minimum. I didn't like that a group of over twenty teenagers were having a drinking party two doors down from my wife and I... Could have added more coffe pkgs to the room,,,like 2 pr Room of ea type,,,if you drank the 1pkg they gave u ur outta coffee...some ppl like a lil xtra coffee,,LIKE me. The motel just needs a little updating. The carpet is a little musty smelling. There is no refrigerator or microwave available. There is no protein on the breakfast bar. Bare minimum, but it suited our purposes for a one night stopover.. Tried to charge me a 'safe' fee and tax. Which was taken off upon question. Old tv. Coffee pot was disgusting. 3 lamps did not work. Very $$$ for 1 night for what we got. Someone pounding (on a wall?) at 3:45am woke us up. Almost seemed deliberate. 4 booms then 3 more a minute later. Sure to wake anyone up... Lousy night's sleep as a result. The fact that I couldn't bring breakfast to my room. There was no microwave and fridge I the room we had.at 3am someone was outside our room blasting music for atleast a half hour. The general upkeep of our rooms left a lot to be desired. Lamp shades were ripped... a little paint and general maintenance would be in order. Building very run-down, in industrial/commercial location. pet fee unfriendly for the quality of the unit, should have been no charge for the pet unless damage occurred. pool N/A. Location and appearance had concern of safety. Filthy. I took pictures and wish I could submit them here . The Shower and tub in the bathroom and even the tissue dispenser and ice bucket had crud built up on everything and needed a good scrubbing. Drapes torn and didn't close properly. Because of the inexpensive price I did not expect a modern , new hotel but I also didn't expect a run down dirty room. I didn't even want to let my socks touch the dirty carpet. The hotel could use a remodeling but a cleaning would be a good start. Pool was very dirty. Room floors were very dirty. Homeless lady in pool telling us about her life, she was staying at the hotel. Tried to get away for the day yo forget our own troubles. Didn't need to hear hers. Filthy, stained furniture, false advertising about pool, bathroom door didn't close, ceiling patches, noisy a/c, tv reception terrible, light didn't work, hair dryer didn't work, toilet seat wouldn't stay up.
