Great location. Location, room was O.K. close to airport. Great breakfast selection. Price was a bit high I thought but still, was comparable to others in close proximity. Smelly dated room. Heavy cleaner scent made me feel there was something to cover up. Sad "fitness center". Inadequate seating for breakfast. Lack of fresh fruit at breakfast :ie apples and oranges were small, under ripe, and indelible. If you're not driving the location is not ideal. Not close to public transportation. There was a party going on near by that ran late into the evening that kept me awake. If you're not driving it's not really convenient. The shuttle service was confusing. Was it coming? Why was it late? Is it really coming? I need to get to the airport, i need an answer...either the shuttle is coming or can you call me a cab?. Water not very hot. Closets were practically unusable because they were too narrow to hand clothes. The shower was just more than a trickle. Towels were thin and thread-bare. should be able to leave more then one wake up call without calling back after the first one rings. My iPhone charger would not work in most of the electrical outlets. It is overpriced, considering there aren't many amenities on site. Slow wi-fi service too. WiFi did not work. Then I had to use WiFi from hotel just beside ComfortInn. Breakfast room too small for such a big motel. Each morning chaos. Low water pressure in the shower. they over booked- asked for a wake up call so we could catch a plane and it never happenned- very stressful. The hotel changed ownership and is no longer the Comfort Inn. Rooms facing highway are extremely noisy. Showers were lacking hot water at times and had poor water pressure. This is not a three star hotel! More like 1.5 or possibly 2.. The front office staff, Nelson was rude and had no customer service. We arrived at 8.16 pm and requested pick-up, we were not picked up till after 10 pm. We had 2 children, 3 and under and it was freezing weather. There was no apology from him for the long wait time. The room had a musty smell to it, it was right up against the freeway so it was very noisy and the water pressure was terrible so it was hard to take a shower. This is advertised as an airport hotel, so much so that they changed their name from Comfort Inn to SFO San Mateo Airport Hotel. So obviously you'd like something convenient to the airport. It's close, but the shuttle is very infrequent. I waited 45 minutes for it. Another person on the shuttle waited over an hour for it. Shuttles for other hotels came by several times, so any other hotel, even ones in SF would be more convenient. Rooms had bad odor Room to room telephones wouldn't work No hot water.
