Beach Haven Inn though an older facility is basic, clean, comfortable and economic accomodation within steps of the Pacific Beach boardwalk, but at the quieter north end of Crystal Pier. Having a kitchenette and pool deck BBQ makes it easy to have some meals in when not enjoying the many restaurants in PB. The heated pool and hot tub were great. all reviews » For the amount we paid we were very pleased. Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The bed was very comfortable! When I read the description of the room it didn't say there was a fridge, microwave or coffee maker...when we walked in the room there was a full kitchen! The staff was always walking around and cleaning up even late at night. One staff member saw us up late and alerted us he had a parking spot open up front so we got to move our car closer. Cute and comfortable suites! The bed was very comfortable. Pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. It was only 1 block to Pacific Beach and well within walking distance for shopping and great placed to eat!! If you wanted to cook in there was a gas grill with cooking utensils and a kitchen with all the cooking and eating utensils. Our experience was incredible! About 5 minutes after we arrived the manager knocked and upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. All of the employees, especially him, were helpful. The rooms are reall cute like a little apt. We loved being so close to the beach. Overall I love this place and will be back. Not sure if we had recently decorated 1 bedroom suite but all fixtures & fittings appeared new & in good condition. Very minor though and not enough to cause any inconvenience. Nothing. The only thing I didn't like about this place was how paper thin the walls were. There was a family in the unit next to us that woke up around 7am and we could here every word they said. Which meant sleeping in didn't really happen at this inn. No exhaust fan in the bathroom had to leave the window open to ventilate. Didn't like hearing the noises from the alley. The only thing was the person above us who exercised every morning at 5am. We were on vacation and didn't like getting woke up at 5am. I need a King size bed and thought I had one. I'm 6'4" and 245 pounds. Also a little work on the windows would keep noise down a little. Wifi doesn't stay connectex. Noisy. Rooms are not isolated very well, a lot of noise at 3:00 am when I would have liked to be sleeping. the water damage in the bathroom. Our room was close to the road so a bit noisy. never stocked enough toilet paper each day... had to ask for more twice. Pool hours closed too early. The ac unit was in the kitchen and the room with the bed was hot, even with the window open. The bathroom was really small and I got bit by a spider while sleeping,had to get a shot and be put on antibiotics. It was disappointing that the rooms did not have a safe as we had to take valuables around with us. The rooms were quite small and dark. The bedroom was only big enough for a bedside table on one side which was a bit restrictive. noise - there is a lot of noise from streets and from ICE machine and pool cleaner and AC. I would not recomment this hotel for high summer due to the fact that the AC is very very loud. Aso there is almoust no view from the windows. value. i felt the cost was too much for the size/cleaniness of rooms. Very noisy didn't sleep for 2 nights and checked out . Walls so thin could hear snoring next door . Change of levels totally unsuitable for anyone with back issues . Very noisy and unrelaxing at pool . Pool cold . Suitable for young travellers not for me . I could not of spent 7 nights there was not a holiday place and not suitable for disabled customers . Thecsame thing. It really should be called a motel. We were upgraded to a jr suite and it wasn't an upgrade at all. It all needed a remodel. Peeling paint, makeshift kitchen, no bath fan, no toilet tank lid. We only stayed one night out of three. We did get reimbursed for one night.
