Checking in was challenging because letsbookhotel.com forwarded the incorrect dates to the hotel. I had my reservation so was able to get the proper rate. The staff did everything they could to make the check in process acceptable. The shuttle drivers were exceptionally attentive. The hotel was easy to get to from the motorway and was close to nice restaurants and the tourist area was easily accessible. As well as location, the hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable plus the breakfast was good value.
all reviews » The hotels location was perfect for our daughters soccer tournament and then shopping and eating in Careytown. The hotels valets were wonderful as were the desk clerks. The breakfast buffet was very good- a notch above the norm. Excellent dinner menu and outstanding breakfast. Custom-made omelettes and the best grits ever! Room was clean and comfortable. Centrally located in downtown Richmond. It was convenient to the Richmond Ballet event that we were attending. The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly. The room was nice but the bathroom shower drain was sluggish and needs to be snaked.(Room 617) There were rowdy people on our floor who woke us up at around 3 A.M.-shouting, running and slamming doors in the halls. They woke us all up even our daughter who had played 5 soccer games that day. We should have called security. Would have liked to have a little better view from our room. The hot water for the shower was not hot for very long. Had to take a very quick shower. The plumbing fixtures in our bathroom sink need attention to make them more secure. I did have allergy issues from the detergent used on the sheets. The city. Never seen such a sad place... No negative comment!. Only better location for me would be next to Confederate White House and museum; those hills are tough!. They forgot to clean our room one day so they did so once we complained which was after 4 pm. It rained a lot while we were there, and there are many areas in the hotel(especially the elevators areas at the parking garage, but also some areas in the hotel) where it was really damp and wet. Our room was not affected by this, but other areas were. value of money in this should be less. The refrigerator and microwave was put into the closet making it difficult to use the closet. The elevators to the garage need much improvement. Poor quality fitness equipment, needing repair, over-used, badly needs update in quality and quantity. Nautilus not the best. Very bad wifi, from my room kept losing the signal if you just moved a fraction of an inch, that was the only annoying thing other than that, I was well satisfied. The restaurant is "Friday's", noisy and not very good. There were no other nearby options. I think there was a smoker in the suite next door. I smelled smoke at night. no wi fi!!!. Didn't get romantic view. Heat was not working properly... Made it a cold night. I was told incorrect information about breakfast by a front desk representative. Our extended day reservation was made incorrectly and we had to deal with the hassles that resulted from that error. The hotel seemed understaffed for the busy weekend. Room service was delayed and customer service was not up to Crowne Plaza standards. The hotel smelled strongly of pinesol. I won't return for that reason. The wireless connection in the hotel was very poor and kept crashing. The staff were rude. The common areas are tired and warn. The hotel is located on a small island in the middle of several busy streets. Towels were dirty with stains. My room was not available so they placed me in a handicap accessible room. No tissues in the room. Location more suited to business travellers than tourists although good access to Canal walks and surrounds. Decor is dated and in need of refurbishment. Our room was clean and comfortable but general hotel facilities not as well cleaned - breakfast area and crockery could have been cleaner for example. arrived at 4.30 pm, room was not ready, I had to wait 2 hours in the lobby. It was just a bit out of the way of things. Felt a bit out on a limb. You should offer at least two free breakfast. Notices in room on personnel safety. I know to be careful in any big city but when you are offered an escort to the car park that's too much, I want to relax on holiday. Terrible hotel located on a highway. Long check in process. Unfriendly staff. Old, unpleasant rooms. Do not recommend this hotel!. Our hotel didn't have water. We could not shower and get ready. The manager would no see us, answer our calls or return our money. Very dissappointing.
