This hotel provides a warm and relaxing environment at half the cost of the upper end chains. It is extremely clean, well kept and the staff is friendly. From four fluffy pillows on each bed, to the massaging shower head to the warm decor you feel pampered and at home in your quiet room. With the attached lounge, Perkins restaurant, fitness room and pool for the kids you have everything you need in one spot. I highly recommend this hotel.
all reviews » This was a last minute trip to Rapid. We bought our daughter a car and needed a affordable but family-friendly atmosphere Hotel. This Hotel had it all! We were very pleased with this Budget-friendly clean and well kept Hotel, oh and the pool and slide was a huge hit with all 5 of our kids :) We will stay there agian. Fantastic! Bar and restaurant were great, good food. Everything you need is there. Petrol station right next door. Staff were lovely. We arrived quite late and was still able to get a meal! Great pool facilities especially if you have kids. Billiard tables too. Loved it. The rooms & beds were very comfortable. And the kids loved the pool. Hotel's location is great. Right next to the hotel is a Perkins and short drive to other restaurantes like Denny's, Olive Garden...etc. Rushmore Mall is super close. We loved the value and style of this hotel. Very comfortable beds. Plugs easy to reach for recharging phones. Nice pool area that we took advantage of after a long day of driving. The rooms were large, the pool was great. Hotel is attached to a restaurant and a bar. The decor is very dated but it kind of adds to the charm of the hotel. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Furnishings are lavish and very comfortable. For me the most important thing is a comfortable bed and these are great. Very picturesque hotel. Staff was terrific despite huge snow storm. Rooms were clean, beds are amazingly comfortable, as were the pillows. In our 9 day trip from, LA to Boston it was the best hotel we stayed in. The complimentary takes up so much of the plug in the sink area, that it's impossible to plug in a curling iron until you unplug the hair dryer. Our room smelled like a combination of grease, cig smoke and mildew! Not a good combination! But you kind of got used to it after a minute or so. Towels were small and toiletries were low end compared to quality of rest of facility. Printer did not work. WiFi was not good inside room. Marginal at best. No continental breakfast with this hotel. But, can't complain as the rate was cheap that I could go out and buy my own breakfast at the nearby Denny's or Perkin's Restaurant the following morning. Had to fight the heat from the halls with AC in the room it was in the 40's outside. Did not have a do not disturb hanger in the room was promptly awakened around 9 by staff. I had asked about shuttle from airport and was told yes, there was one. So, upon arrival, I called hotel to request shuttle and was informed it was only for large groups. Price quoted by hotel was $16., actual shuttle price was $20. (I was annoyed but decided to tip the driver $5. anyway. All's good!. Perkins attached to it is nasty. I was bummed the pool was closed, but it wasn't a big deal. We had a non-smoking room and cigarette smoke filtered through the bathroom vent - towels reeked of cigarette smoke and we could smell smoke in the room as well. This was very unpleasant. Hot tub in pool area was tiny, only enough room for 3 adults. Need flat screen TV. Having to go out of the hotel for breakfast. Don't really think there was anything that we didn't like. Hard pillows. Paper thin walls and the "Carhart" bedspreads. no breakfast. Out all day only go there to sleep so kinda expensive for that also no complimentary breakfast. the price of the rooms were expensive. Not breakfast possible to get. Pool and slide closed, should be posted on web site. No complaints. the couch in our room was held up by wood blocks, we thought that was kind of funny, especially for the price we paid per night. No Internet. The weather. nothing. I was double charged on my credit card for my room. I have made several attempts to fix the problem and they keep ignoring me. I thought I was getting the room for $139.99 and instead it ended up being $169.99. No light breakfast available. Hotel could use some updating. It is looking somewhat worn. Needs an upgrade. The room was not clean. Bedspread was stained as was the carpet and large stains on upholstered desk chair. VERY disappointing, but we were on a tight schedule and no time to change. An older place should SHINE in order to compete with newer facilities!. We couldn't watch tv because there was no remote and there was a limited amount of channels. Close to highway Noisy.
