I liked the location - not really in the heart of the action, but a close enough walk. But being right on the boardwalk and having parking next door could not have been more convenient. The bar area was cozy, the staff was great. The room was clean, comfortable, well appointed. Best price in Ocean City for any star level or location for that date. nice older hotel with old fashioned lobby. Great front porch facing the ocean with rocking chairs to enjoy the view. the staff is amazing, friendly and super helpful..bar tender goes above and beyond to give you the royal treatment and the cleaning staff are happy and look to be enjoying their work..always saying hello when ever they see you..
all reviews » My husband and I enjoyed the ambiance of this victorian historic hotel. The location is great. It was nice to watch the people walking on the boardwalk and sit on the porch in the rocking chairs. Our housekeeper, Laura was awesome. We were very pleased with our room. A lovely and elegant hotel. Very old school, needs a touch of paint here and there but very beautiful. The staff was excellent and very friendly. The location (on the boardwalk) was great, and we could sit on the porch in the evening and watch the waves. My daughter and her husband stayed there 3 nights and loved every day. She said the staff was great and the rooms were very comfortable. I purchased this room for them as a wedding presant and I was pleased with the results. The room was spacious enough for the price we paid and we were fortunate enough to have a partial view of the beach. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was more enjoyable because of them. The Lady That Helped Me Get Checked In Was Very Nice And Cool, The Room Was Comfortable And The Veiw And Location Was Awesome! I Will Definitely Stay there Again And Tell Friends And Family About It …. All the staff were friendly. Location was right on beach, and right in front of OC Air Show, which was perfect. The price was right, and the room was comfortable, and worked great for our needs. The staff was very friendly and the room was awesome. Throw back Ocean City at its finest. The bar tender made us an awesome caramel coffees. We enjoyed it so much we went two weekends in a row. I really liked the hot shower in my room. It was forceful and hot. Great shower. Also I really enjoyed using your front porch for a cup of coffee and rocking on your rocking chairs. Fine hotel. The room was in outstanding condition It was very clean Right on the beach. Stepped out of my room and was on the boardwalk Had a full kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, stove. Excellent location right on boardwalk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Boardwalk location & view was superb, parking convenient & while we didn't eat in the restaurant, it looked very nice. Hotel staff was excellent & friendly. The tub was the only downside - gritty, initially with rusty water (maybe I was the first user of the season?), poor drainage. The shower was great but the water backed up. If that tub had drained ok I would have given them an "excellent" on "clean" and "comfort". Parking is in the back and you walk in through the basement area which doesn't give you the best feeling for the place. the restaurant is handy but way over priced for the food. Nothing. Kelly's restaurant in the lower portion (not owned by the hotel) was awful. Don't eat breakfast there. no breakfast was offord. I didn't like that our room did not have a fridge especially for the price we were already paying. The Security Seemed Kinda Rude. The room really needs a refrigerator and microwave. Had a problem with the tub draining, and then the drain came off and it was pretty nasty, but then drained better. Last stay the beds/ mattresses where a little dated this stay that was not the case. No problems with anything. The toilet was having some issues not sure if it was the water pressure or what. We stayed in efficinyc units and there wasn't an elevator. The beds were uncomfortable. Tv reception was fuzzy. That we had to leave after only one night. Wish we had another couple days to stay. This hotel was everything I expected it to be. I would have liked a mini fridge in the room. Everything I expected was good no complaints. We had a problem with the bath tub being plugged & the faucet wouldn't shut off. The room had a musty smell& it was hot when we arrived. Very old bathroom fixtures, borderline charming but old - although everything worked adequately despite age!. The staff were like nautzi's when I didn't know the license plate on my car - really..... geez - must have asked me 5 times within the first1/2 hour I was there if I had the plate #!! The air conditioner was very noisy - they should start upgrading those soon. This time my room was not quite as clean as my past stays, but all in all still love it there and always stay there. We were on the first floor and the upstair quests were noisy late into the night. Very few outlets (none in the bathroom). There was a wedding there and our room was directly above the band. Making a post beach nap impossible. Didn't have time to stay longer. Rooms were not sound-proof. Doors did not close tightly. Noise from other rooms and hallway. Heat was not working (and was needed on the cold spring night). The paint smell in the room was very strong. No gym, no pool, no room service. Bathroom is dated and shower difficult to work. The bed/ mattress needs to be updated. The room had no desk/ table or flat surface. There was a vent door in the wall of the room that would not close and was disconcerting. The parking lot was far from the hotel entrances. bathroom was small with no vent. The noisy elevator. Kind of dark in hallways. No mini fridge in the room, not good if you have kids & want to keep milk or juice in the room. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with young children for that reason. Housekeeping was active & very noisy at an early hour. We are booked in the suites next month, so we know there is a fridge.....but I wouldn't want to book one of those for each stay & I will make sure the next place has a mini-fridge. Not too clean, dirty under beds, no safe, slow wifi , musty smell. Nothing negative we loved our stay. No room darkening curtains bathroom door wouldn't close. Didn't dislike anything. Price was high. Room had only overhead light. No lamp. Having to pay for parking day I checked in until room was available. People smoking on porch sitting on rocking chairs. Shower curtain was short and water wound up on the floor after showering.
