We loved the location..walking distance to everything and right on the bus route. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the rockers watching the boats and meeting other guests. We were fortunate to have a ground floor room! The hotel staff was excellent and informative. We were given maps and tips for getting around as well as recommendations for eateries. all reviews » The location was superb - close to the ferry terminal but far enough away to be tranquil and have amazing views. The Hotel itself was old world with quaint porches and staircases like you see in the films. Large rooms with antique style furniture. Very friendly staff who had maps and suggestions for food and trips. We stay at the Wesley every year same weekend for a guys weekend golf trip and it is a perfect location to restaurants and night life in oaks bluff. Has great front porch to sit and relax and look over the water. Location was awesome- close to beach, town with a gorgeous view of the harbor. Staff was very accommodating- let us check in early and store our luggage after check out. Staff was excellent and so wasn't the location!!!! Great views and loved relaxing on the rockers on the front porch!!! Beds were comfortable and rooms was a good size. The location relative to all the restaurants and shops was ideal. The "old" ambiance was nice and we felt like we were staying in a piece of history. I left my ipad in the room, and the staff called me the next day to say they found it. It is not luxurious, it is convenient to Circuit Ave and the ferry at Oak Bluffs or East Chop. it was clean and neat. Sitting on the porch was lovely on one of the hottest days. The location. A bit of pastry, bagel/doughnut or fruit would be a nice touch for this hotel. If we had a room other than ground floor, I would not have liked that fact that only one building has an elevator!. There was no elevator/lift and we had heavy baggage. As it was an old style hotel this was to be expected but there was no one to help take the cases to the rooms. We were on a long touring holiday so had large heavy cases. The hotel was old so had very very creaking floorboards which kept us awake as it was impossible to walk across them without making a loud noise. The walls were also very thin. No air conditioning either though you could at least open the windows to get the sea breeze. The hotel is definitely not modern. Bath fixtures are dated, the shower head was poor- water barely trickled out and it took forever to get hot water. Room was very small too. Shower was really small and awkward. Not that we minded but there were no elevators. No restaurant but they did have complimentary tea and coffee. The beds were uncomfortable and seemed to show their age and use. The Wi-Fi didn't seem to work. We had no issues with the small bathroom but a larger person might. Our room was close to the street and the when the people were going home from the bars they passed our window yelling and screaming loundly every night. We were disturbed and woken up at least 5 times every night. Would never take a room so close to street again!. the bed was a little stiff. They should give us breakfast. small room for the price. Wish they would have served at least a continental breakfast. Again it is an old fashioned hotel. the wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom cabinet was peeling too but i did not really expect the lap of luxury and it was fine for a single traveler on a holiday weekend. Rooms need updating and carpets . Rooms were outdated. Bed was hard. Air conditioner was poor. Our room was lit at night because of hotel light outside our window. For what we paid per night , I was very disappointed. Furniture was outdated/shabby rooms were small/tiny bathrooms bathrooms were small and water took a long time to get hot no elevator working. Needs major updating. We could feel the springs in the bed; overall, not comfy. Cramped rooms, woefully inadequate parking...had to park on the street taking a chance on getting an extortion level parking ticket. The place has old style charm, but the charm wears thin quick of all the other issues. given the daily price the beds were extremely uncomfortable...springs easily felt. That was quite disappointing. It is unlikely we will return. No food options , no real services offered by this hotel , pretty much self serve . people were nice but not real helpful because there is not much to this hotel. I would recommend oak bluffs city for a stay . I would not recommend this hotel to a friend that I wanted to keep. I felt ripped off for this price. I stayed in New York city in manhattan for 199 a night in a hotel twice as nice as this just two days before. Where to start... Dollar value, it was one of the worse places we've ever stayed. And this is from someone who stays at the Motel 6. You could feel the metal coils in the bed poking all night, it was noisy, a tiny room with peeling furniture. I can live without amenities, but for $250/night, this was pretty bad. Was no elevator to the third floor shower not working room to small for the money loor. The bed is uncomfortable. The room and bathroom is small. The accessories are out of style. No worth the money I pay. No parking. Try another hotel.
