The suite we stayed in had just been remodelled, it was great, we had a couple of minor issues when we first arrived that were quickly corrected by Hotel Staff. the Hotel position, its staff, the accomodation. beautiful accomodations and location. wonderful place, close to the beach and town, fully equiped kitchen, excellent steak's restaurant,. the room and the location.
all reviews » the hotel was reasonable value for money for the level of suite provided however the common areas of the hotel such as reception, halls and elevators were in need of urgent redecoration and in the case of the elevators-replacement.Eddie, the concierge, is one of the best assets of the hotel. Rooms offer generous space. Location. The building, while being almost 50 years old, was updated and had lots of charm. The suite was roomy and well laid out. The bed was quite comfortable. The kitchen was nice and usable. Great dining area and decent view of the ocean and bay. The valet and porter service was excellent. During high season when fully staffed this could be a nice choice. We found it very quiet in mid September.The only criticism I have is the room service was very pricey, 2 adults and 1 child cost $125 for dinner on Friday night- (pizza/burger/steak/chicken fingers and no beverages). We arrived at 3:25 PM with check in time 3PM and they did not have our suite available to us until after 5 PM. The manager was not very helpful in resolving things to my satisfaction, no free drinks, meal, or taking anything off our paid price.stinky smell from air condition, lot of additional fees, qty/price ratio low, can not match europian hotels - in fact it is an apartments building not real hotel, converted to the hotel. yes there were 2 particular issues, the hotel has a mandatory daily charge of 11.00 dollars plus tax, which they say is for daily newspapers, use of the room safe and unlimited local telephone calls. This is all very fine but if you dont need or desire any of these services then you should not be charged for them on a mandatory basis. This was not i the terms and conditions either.Gym, pool and newspapers are considered as extras and paid apart, despite the client is not informed. The kitchen was partally dirty and, in general, the cleanliness is absolutely a dark point. The balcony area and windows were filthy and took 3 complaints to get the area cleaned and then was not none as well as expected. The water fall at the dining area, while a focal point of the hotel's promotional material, never functioned while we were there.

Located on-site is the award-winning restaurant, Shula's Steakhouse. Celebrating the legendary history of famed Miami Dolphins head coach Don Shula, the restaurant features a variety of signature dishes as well as classic steak dishes, in a elegant sports-like atmosphere. Lunch and dinner are available. For a more casual atmosphere, guests can enjoy cocktails, beverages and a signature appetiser menu at the No Name Lounge. This lounge is also themed after the famous Miami Dolphins No Name Defense of 1972. Also located on-site is the Top of the Falls restaurant. Guests can enjoy a variety of fresh seafood and tropical drinks in an open-air atmosphere. The Garden Terrace features panoramic views of the pool area. Breakfast is available from 07:00 until 11:00.

Important information to guests

Disabled facilities: The restaurant and public areas are wheelchair accessible but the guest rooms are not. Guests under the age of 21 are only allowed to check in with a parent or official guardian. From 1 May 2016 through 30 June 2018 The Alexander Oceanfront Resort will be undergoing extensive renovations to include: - Updates and redesign throughout the building - Window replacements - New lobby - New landscaping - Pool There will be various levels of renovations occurring with construction noise which will impact guest experience. Some on-site amenities will be closed during this period. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. The property will be going through renovation works from Sat 31 Mar 2018 until Mon 31 Dec 2018. During this period, guests may experience some noise or light disturbances, and some hotel facilities and services may not be available.
