They were very accommodating of our late arrival. Very nice and friendly owners, very pleasant. Bed was super comfy, felt safe and homey. I liked the rocking chairs outside the room to sit and look at the mountains. Had a microwave and small fridge. Didn't experience a single problem. Wonderful little motel at a great price. One of the best motels I have stayed in! The front desk staff was very friendly and I felt very welcome. The room was really comfortable and clean with everything I needed. The bathroom had a very nice design and a big shower. I liked absolutely everything about my stay, including the breakfast at the adjacent restaurant.
all reviews » At first I was a little worried about booking a small hotel. I was surprised. Everything was clean, didn't have any problems. My wife and I arrived in town early and they allowed us to check in early. Fantastic. Owner was very helpful in offering directions, etc. Only stayed over night. But would stay again. Liked the owner's personal touch and friendliness. He thanked us for choosing his motel. The room was clean, comfortable, nice and warm when we arrived. Weather was on the very cool side that day. Rob and Gabby are the reason we continue to stay at A Holliday Motel in Maggie Valley, NC. Office attendant offered to stay after hours until we arrived. Very nice!! Nothing fancy but was clean..excellent priced. We just needed a place to sleep and shower. We came in to ride in the mountains. Would definitely stay again!. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was quaint and the owners were wonderful. Our room was very clean and well maintained. I really enjoyed sitting outside in a rocking chair and simply take in the beauty of the mountains. Really friendly welcome from both Rob and Gaby, who both really took time to make a simple formality - checking in - into a very pleasant, informative and friendly exchange. Excellent pool, too!. Friendly staff, and very clean and well maintained rooms. The facilities provided were wide ranging. The location is good for access to Maggie Valley, and onwards to Cherokee or the Carolinas. We loved to the décor. Very retro and SO homey! The beds were AWESOME! The owners are friendly, accommodating, and make you feel like you've known them for years. They're an awesome family!!. The owners are very nice, go out of their way to be helpful. they are locally owned, and they are more personal with you than a chain operation !!. Rob and Gabbi are very nice, they insured that all our needs were met. We also enjoyed the diner which is part of the motel. Easy access, clean rooms, nice owners. Not fancy just comfortable & quiet. Excellent service and very clean rooms. Could not ask for friendlier staff. Price, location, helpfulness of staff, very old motel but clean. Great, friendly management, extra clean. Overall great value. Clean, friendly establishment. Shower. Spacious bathroom. Clean large room. I personally take showers more than baths, so it wasn't an issue with me, but there was only a shower. I would have liked more counter space or a shelf for toiletries in the bathroom, it got a little crowded with mine and my sisters toiletries. Minor stuff to mention for an overall excellent experience. Just wish we could have stayed longer. We had to come home to South Carolina for Doctor appointments. The facilities are clearly getting old, though are well maintained. The shower struggled to get up to temperature, and the mattress was a little lumpy. In addition the WiFi in the rooms furthest from reception was poor. However, I think all of this is fairly reflected in the rates for the rooms, which are very reasonable. Thank you!. It took a long time for the shower/sink to get hot water. like 5-8 minutes. nothing. Smokers congregated on the porch and smoked. The rooms are all non smoking, so they smoke on the porch. My wife and I cannot tolerate the stench of cigarette smoke, so we were not able to enjoy sitting on the porch and enjoying the weather. Was not impressed with the diner. Had breakfast and everything was over cooked. Went back the next day (hours 7-2) around 7:30 - not open. Beds were a little soft, shower was very small,. You can hear people in the room next to you at a normal voice. furniture a little broken down, bathroom unheated, old furnishings no info on portable heater for bathroom , plug in frige and microwave. Need to update comfoters bed skirts etc. A lot of the tourist shops were closed.
