We loved that we were in walking distance from the beach, Sanata Monica Pier, 3rd street shopping and eating. We were allowed to have our small daogs with us in the Condo, that made it very special for my family. And we really liked that it is only about 25 minutes from Universal Studios. We received excellent customer service. After booking the Condo I emailed the establishment and received a very fast reply. They answered all our questions before taking the trip and when we arrived at the Con.
all reviews » I really loved the location being so close to the beach/pier and the promenade. There are so many good places to eat nearby and fun things to do. It was also great to have our own apartment type place with plenty of room - a large living room area with a bed & futon and a separate bedroom. Bob is also very helpful and nice. It felt a little sketchy at first because it is not a typical "hotel" where you check in at a front desk, however Bob was quick to text me with all the information I nee. I like the location and the exllent service. There is no reception desk on site. But the manager is very responsible. His response is always fast when I sent him text messages. It is a good experience without on site management. My family was on 3rd floor. I was concerned about noise from ground bar after I read comments on Internet. However, my family members didn't feel bothered. The location was FANTASTIC with a view of the beach and the Santa Monica Pier right across the street. Unit was an interesting, well decorated loft, not like the usual hotel room. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and available right next door. Two nights there and no noise to disrupt our slumber. Definitely will stay there again when in SoCal. As a family of four with two boys 13 and 9, we had a very good experience. The location was excellent. East walk to the beach, the pier, shopping. Check-in was done without a face-to-face encounter, but the proprietor was easily reached by cell phone or email, and he was very helpful in making arrangements for our stay. Beds were comfortable. Kitchenette in the room. We stayed 2 nights here. The view from the room can't get much better. The location is prime to all the action... Just a block away from the pier and the promenade and where all the action takes place. The manager was very prompt and accomodating. Parking is tricky around Santa Monica these days. Be prepared to drop $20 every night. Big room with kitchen facilities, excellent location, not expensive and convinient car parking. Helpful manager Bob (but no reception on site-just mail and sms connections which was no problem for me, but probably can be a problem for somebody else). Good value for that money. We could see the Santa Monica pier from our room. The is definitely set up like an apartment. There's a fridge, microwave and oven which is convienent. I'd stay there again for sure. The place is a walking distance to shopping, food and beach! At night, you might find the club below the room abit noisy but you will just have to think as lullaby.. Easy check in, clean room, upgraded our room, cable tv, happy with the fridge and kitchen facilities considering we are on a budget, overall great experience. I had booked a suite due to an event at another hotel, whose rooms were $30 more a night for 2. I needed my family to stay, so the suite would have perfect, however, that "plumbing problem" came up and we were told to go to another hotel, down the block, but the room was just too small. I saw the suites, it is a great value for the money, and yes, Makai, is a very loud bar, but I knew all that. Very disappointed it did not work out. Right on top of Ocean Ave in Santa Monica, a stone's throw from SM pier. Spacious rooms. Babak, the owner/manager, was responsive and accommodating - great to work with him and he provided recommendations for nightlife hotspots. Our room had a terrific window that gave us a view of the beach, SM pier... outstanding bang for your buck. Unblocked view to the beach (at least from our room), also easy to reach by car. The view makes it a perfect value/money. Bob was friendly and responding immediately to all requests. Great location - directly across the street from the Santa Monica Pier / beach - and a 5 minute walk (2 blocks) the other direction to the main shopping street... which is amazing!. There were no towels but Bob told us where to go get some. They were not stocked that night, but the next day we were able to find some. Didn't like the party downstairs. If you are going for a bachelorette/bachelor type weekend where you are out all night, this wouldn't matter, but for families and quiet weekends.. It would be hard to get to sleep. Not the nicest property in Santa Monica but worth the price because of the location and the comfort. Almost no toiletrees at the bathroom (half of small shampoo bottle for 3 people for 3 days). Old furniture in the room but for that money ok. I believe if I didn't look at the reviews I'd be slightly disappointed, because you don't check in with a person (except on the phone), it is unprofessional the way they answer (because it's a cell phone) and it's very noisy with traffic outside. With that being said, I was prepared for it and I actually enjoyed all of it!. Nothing.. The power went out, and wasn't fixed for a length of time. We would have preferred to speak to someone about holding our bags etc and the best things to do in town but because we didn't have a phone, it was a hassle to contact reception. Nothing loved it all. Club downstairs open and loud till 2am Coffee pot did not work no shampoo and conditioner in shower had to pay $20 for parking. Negative reviews on line don't justify the large spaceous loft you get. People before us had been smoking in the room. Some furnishings were a bit shabby and blinds didn't work - wouldn't stop me going back again mind you. Nothing. Bathroom, lighting, street noise, parking $20. Loud room-vibrating noise from bar & grill on ground floor until 2AM, noise from drunken bar & grill customers until 3AM. The bed was a total nightmare, it made such a terrible noise, it sounded like it could fall apart with the slightest movement we made. Very thin walls, we could hear everything both our neighbours did. Kitchen facilities dirty Lack of staff. It is now going to be a hassle for me to figure out if I can get a refund. One room for two was not going to work for a family of adult children. We all ended up cutting the night very short, sadly, which ruined the entire reason I booked the suite to begin with. Guests should be advised that it's loud until about 2am if you're staying on the 2nd floor (maybe the 3rd, too). This was actually great for my group of friends (men in our mid-20s), as the bar downstairs was a great time. The place was a bit run down. There is no front desk, so there is a feeling of uncertainty and also no possibility to ask questions, leave bags for a few hours etc. Noise from the bar downstairs, but last call at 2am on weekends (earlier on weeknights), so it's manageable. Although the location is amazing, the apartment is right above a night club. If your a party goer then it's probably ideal for you, but we had full days packed with touristy things and literally got next to no sleep because of the noise. If you need your sleep DON'T STAY here - the frustration nearly ruined our whole stay in Santa Monica. It's not a real hotel , it's like a guest house and the word of Luxury is not matching with the place. There is no reception and you are only talking on the phone with the manager. By the time check'in I hardly learned the number of room and the key was inside to get it. It was said that there was free wifi but not, if you are lucky you can use the restaurant's wifi which is located at the downstairs. No elevator, not so comfortable for 4 people, but I really recomend it!. Lack of information in room, the room was really not very clean. Chekin process required me to call host mobile to get access codes. No staff to help you. If you are staying here Thursday night don't think you will be able to sleep before 12mid night. If you are staying here Friday night don't think you will be able to sleep before 2am. It is like being in the nightclub below. If you think I am joking try it. Earplugs are not sufficient and this room is not fit to rent at these days. Noisy room discotheque could not sleep at all friday. close to the window of the room is too noisy. It is directly above an extremely loud, busy nightclub. It was so loud that the floor was vibrating. I got no sleep at all. There was no air conditioning so the room was like a sauna. The tub was stained black and gross. I feel like I was tricked into staying there and they should not be allowed rent that out without disclosing that it's above the loudest nightclub in the universe. This is what to expect. Extreme traffic noice in most rooms. Very poor service from Landlord. Things like coffemachine and lightbulbs not working and very wornout facilities. Save your money. Go somewhere else. The apartment is above a bar and Thursday night is football night very noisy and as there is no air conditioning the room becomes stifling with the windows shut. No kettle no toaster no gas to the stove so not self contained. Very very poor. Run down broken toilet very unsanitary holes in walls shower broken poor air conditioning very load bar under room. Too loud in the nights. Not a hotel but rather self managed suites. No elevator. To describe these rundown apartments as Luxury is false advertising and any resemblance to the picutres on the website are purely coincidental. Security of personal belongings was a constant concern as there always appeared to be random people from the bar on the groundfloor wandering through the corridors on both the 2nd and 3rd floors where we and our friends had rooms. The nightclub is too noisy if you have children in your party. The whole place is sub-standard. Poor security, filthy furnishings, no air conditioning. Noisy bar immediately beneath keeping us awake until 2.30am on Saturday night. Cooker that didn't work at all, fridge with no internal shelving. The bath enamel is worn off and shower door wouldn't close. No representative on site. Remove the 'Luxury' tag. This place is not luxurious in any sense of the word. They didn't tell you it is over a pub. The music goes to 2-3am. Was told could check out a 1pm and maid comes before 12 and kicks us out and very rude. No elevator so had to drag suitcases up 3 flights of stairs!. - NO WI-FI (thought it says that it is free) - No conditioner -room wasn't ready, we arrived after 14.00, so we had to wait 1 hour for lady to clean it - no shampoo/ shower gel, only soap -no hairdryer -nightclub on the first floor makes the walls shake, no sleep for you in this room. It's like sleeping inside the nightclub - the floor was dirty and had food leftovers even after lady cleaned it - there were 3 TV remote controls, but none of them worked with TV. It was above a nightclub and the music pounded until 2:00 am. The TV and coffee machine didn't work and the glass shower door was falling off the hinges. The was no front desk only an email with a door code. It didn't look as nice as the online pictures. It smelled like a gas was escaping from the stove. It was too noisy!!! The couch looked stained and dirty. The hallways smelled terrible. It wasn't at all like the way it was represented. It wasn't luxurious at all!. We had to move from the room after one hour of stay because the music of the club downstairs made vibrate all the room and we couldn't get a rest. Very bad hotel. I discourage everybody to book this hotel. Everything.. Starting with the fact that there is no one there and that someone leaves the keys inside a empty room.. Nothing was good about our stay there. on top of a very loud night club. dirty!.
