The hotel had a lot of unique features, such as its beautiful, interior design which features calm beige colors and exquisite furniture. My view from the large bay windows was spectacular in my hotel room. The staff treats everyone with equal dignity and respect. Thank you! The staff was very helpful in scheduling tours for me of West Hollywood and Los Angeles. As an older person, I felt very safe in the hotel. all reviews » I love the location - close to WeHo, Rodeo, Getty, but also away from tourist trash. The view over LA is awesome, anytime - night or day. Beds are firm and cozy, rooms are well laid out, very quiet - ask for any #xx16 room = corner room with city view. Sky-Bar is awesome. Staff is usually EXCELLENT, they will work with you, whatever you need. Front Desk Staff - I think Michael was the young man - amazing service. I had booked minutes before on Bookins dot com and when I arrived the res was not in - I was exhausted - Michael saw to my bags, gave me 2 free drinks - and brought my key to me personally when the res cleared the computers. Outstanding young man. The Staff is excellent. Any hotel MUST be judged on the ability of Sr. Managment to hire and keep the very best people. Front Desk manager ( Kayue or Kaycie) sorry - went so far out of her way to be sure that the reservation I made was inbound at my arrival - so well spoken and professional. Door staff also excellent. The Mondrian was well kept, clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed. We had some issues with a noisy neighbour one evening which was really frustrating, but after we spoke to the manager about it, he was very accomodating and did everything he could to rectify the situation. Everything...Staff, Location, Room, Design, the TV,...even that 'peppermint shampoo'!!!...they just took care of everything. Extra credit goes to those lovely ladies at the front desk. N.B. the views from those 'ceiling to floor' windows was spectacular! truly hollywood experience... The room: it was my favorite part of the hotel!! What a great design... My room was next to what seems to be a service door, so it was annoying to hear the noise several times. The fact that the hotel staff didnt appear to take us seriously when we reported a t-shirt going missing from our room. Although after us repeatly requesting to be updated and if it had been found, it was a couple of days later..... We valet our new car and when we got back into it the glove box was went thru, there was towels we had on our floor boards thrown on our leather seats, crumbs on the seats and the drove up with the windows down and our stereo blasting!. The restaurant service was poor ! Very slow and food was uncooked after us waiting 1 hour for it Can be very snobby ! When we arrived for our table in the window we were told we could not sit down as one of our guests was not with us ! As we waiting so long we could not eat as we had to leave to go and see a Pre booked show so we ended up getting an in and out burger - not a great start. I was disappointed that the asia de cuba resturant was not as described on the website and had actually been moved to an area that was not as outstanding as that portrayed. All that was left was an empty space..this was a shame which resulted in us not eating at the hotel. Expensive. Couldnt find my reservation from letsbookhotel.com ???? not sure what happen but Brett just made a new one... Nothing. The cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired: a lot of dust under the bed (as thick as a carpet); also, toiletries which hadn't been changed from the previous room occupant (they were half empty), the "revolving" mirror was full of stains and marks. I would expect the rooms to be pristine in a hotel like a this. - no use of minibar as only fits items for sale. leaving !!!!!. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, no free wi-fi, only one bath robe, toiletries not replaced when empty - for the price these should be standard. Design is odd and sort of creepy. Noise is bad. Walls are paper thin and if you have a room near the pool you hear the dj until 2am. Bathroom could be more roomy. Had two issues with the room which were solved diligently. Noisy during the night. Breakfast in bed didn't get delivered. Wifi was $10 a night which considering how much we paid is too much. Restaurant was very poor. Music system didn't work. Food was terrible, however I understand that they are in between restaurants at the moment. Couldn't get a city view room for a romantic evening, even though the room type allows it and a special request was made - was a bit disappointing. Also waited a while for some items like a kettle to be brought up. Hotel didn't have a vase for flowers. Shower temperature control was a bit flaky. expensive parking. Dark hallways, a bit too young and hip for me!. nothing!. Stupid outrageous prices for items in the room such as bottled water. Paying for wifi. Purchased wifi twice in our 4 night stay, and visited business centre twice. Only actually used the wifi for about 30 mins for each time as we were out sightseeing during the day. Therefore didnt actually get 24 hours use of the wifi. Maybe there should be an limit of say 10 hours and once you purchase the wifi the timer only goes down when u are actually using the wifi? Other than this, we loved the hotel and the staff. Shower hard to operate: either scalding hot or cold. Room service prices....14$ For pot of coffee....ouch :). The hallways were really dark and not well lit. Pool is WAY too small for the hotel. If you weren't able to get to the pool by 11am then you couldn't get a lounger at all. This alone would discourage me from returning. Having to pay for morning coffees which were terrible. Everything was perfect. Was not the best kind of hotel for young children. Wifi and parking cost a lot.
