The room was clean and had everything a traveler would need. The breakfast was good with a nice selection. Staff was friendly and price was great.! Our first time to stay at a Motel 8. Would go back. Being pet friendly is another reason we would return, although we didn't have our pet this time, the price is fair. There was a brook next to the hotel that was delightful to listen to. The staff was so helpful with all my questions. The coffee was great and the motek was convenient to everywhere!.
all reviews » The breakfast was standard stuff, which was a lot better than I expected for the modest price of the room. The staff was friendly and helpfull. friendly staff, clean facility, the feeling that the staff worked as a team and wanted to do things well. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good. Girl at the desk was friendly. Very convenient to downtown Cumberland, Western Maryland historic railway and the C&O Canal. Great accommodations for the money!!! The staff anticipated that there would be a lot of people staying who were taking part in the triathlon - they started breakfast A LOT earlier than usual and we really appreciated it. Close to shopping and countryside. Location. Smelled of smoke everywhere. Price and the front desk employees seemed friendly. We were pleased. The hotel smelled like stal cigarette smoke. One guest said it was stinkbugs. (I only saw one). The king bed was sufficient but not that comfortable. possibly and additional chair in breakfast area. New pillows are needed. They were lumpy. Nothing!!!. Ironing boards weren't in the room you had to get them from the front desk. and the breakfast area was terribly crowded/tiny....so I had to give up my chair to an elder couple and go eat in my room. Crowded room, ice maker issues. Older facility and thin walls although it was quiet enough. The tv's were old and had a new direct tv system running through them, which gave a fuzzy and unfocused picture. Could have a little more grass for doggies. Sound proffing between rooms. Felt like th people above me, who were VERY noisy, were in the room with me. small area for breakfast and crowded, not much grass to walk dogs. Top sheet used as a bottom sheet for the king bed and the blanket that was on the bed had several cigarette burns, both large and small. Very small breakfast area. nothing. Refused my ground floor request when I made reservation 2 months before stay, and checked-in close to earliest check-in time. need hard boiled eggs or eggs for breakfast instead sauage gravy each day more parking had trailers and big trucks taking lots of spaces for their vehicles. They said room had been cleaned but when got to room 1-sheets dirty 2- table and night stands had food and drink spills not wiped 3- old food still in fridge 4-tub dirty. I called the front desk and they sent some one right away and took care of everything. the breakfast wasnt very fresh. the smell in the hallway and the dirty carpet in the hall. There needs to be more offered for breakfast including fresh fruit I spent the night in a Super8 in Annapolis, Maryland where I was really disappointed. Dressers were broken, the Wi-Fi didn't work, breakfast was minimal also, and the water drained very slowly from the tub. The price was $20 higher and so not worth so. The pillows were like rocks. There were only 3 towels. For two ladies, that wasn't enough towels for hair and body. I was out for the day and when I returned my room had not been cleaned. Needless too say I will not stay here again. Also ice machine was not working on 95 degree days. Decor. Scent. My reservation was not in, so I was given a smoker room! I don't smoke, nor do I like the smell of theroom. Smoke smell. Beer tops and spoiled food under edge of bed and I woke up with 27 bug bites on my body. Pubic hair on toilet and the tub was filthy. Was in room 309 if it matters and sleep in the bed closest to the window kid sleep in other bed and he had no bites.
