We booked our stay at The Shilo Inn in Kanab. When we arrived it was being completely refurbished. The hotel had been purchased & taken over by the Days Inn located next door. We stayed the Days Inn and it was excellent. Room was comfortable, had refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. Everything worked including the Cable TV and wi-fi. Coin laundry was a handy and helpful. Computer in lobby available to assist trip planning.
all reviews » Very good location if you want to hike in the Zion National Park or go to the famous Coyote Buttes or hike in any of the slot canyons in the area. A basic continental breakfast is also included. clean, close to Best Friends, good wi-fi, walking distance to decent restaurant, slightly longer walk to grocery, good location for day trips to Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon. Nice hotel with very friendly staff, breakfast okay. Clean and good size rooms. Kanab is a nice little town, the Nedra's Too restaurant comes recommended. I liked that there was a room available when letsbookhotel.com did not get us a room when we asked. Great hot breakfast. Lots of variety, including scrabbled eggs and biscuits and gravy. Easy to park, very clean, good bed and pillows, breakfast was a nice surprise. Good location and heat value for money. Kanab is a lovely little town. Check-in was easy and quick. Breakfast was good but you need to be able to wait until the room clears out if there are a couple of buses full of senior citizens staying there. They descend on the breakfast room like a plague of locusts. This hotel has expanded its operation to cater to those groups, but that's not so bad in that it enables to hotel to offer more services such as a hot breakfast. nothing. occasional karaoke noise from pub next door. Not the cheapest hotel, but reasonable value for money. Used the hotel as a base to go Zion NP, which was still an 45 minute drive... When we got there we did not have a reservation at days Inn like we thought. Beds were hard. The hotel changed its name from when I first booked but didn't tell us it had changed. Caused some problems finding it but not a massive problem. The bed was hard. And the "free" breakfast the next morning was disappointing. AC fell apart when we touched it. Freezer door in fridge was broken. Pool area was small. Dirty pool and lukewarm hot tub. Nothing. We asked for two rooms on the ground floor because my elderly parents (90 and 87 years old), have difficulty climbing stairs. Our rooms were on the third floor of the motel and after traveling all day, my parents had to climb three flights of stairs because the elevator was broken. I felt we should have had our room rate reduced because of the inconvenience. We booked this hotel based on price and features listed at letsbookhotel.com but once we got there the price was a little more and they didn't have something we needed (baby crib) which was a little of a hassle. Not the fault of the hotel, just a miscommunication through letsbookhotel.com. Air nod a bit noisy. Breakfast was very sober. Pool was not ready, reorganized, so was the wirlpool. Had trouble with my room key. Had to have it replaced twice and asked for a protective sleeve to prevent demagnetizing it. The bath tub drain did not work and the tub filled up with water each time we took a shower. Hotel is old fashioned and would need upgrading. A little too expensive for what it is, compared with other hotels around. We had a room close to the pool (not in use because it's November) and there was a lot of noise, I guess from machinery. The lady at check-in was a bit grumpy and said she "hated letsbookhotel.com", then checked me into a room which was already occupied. Then after I'd moved rooms, somebody tried to get into my room. The breakfast was rubbish too. Facilities are average but appear to be very poorly managed. We were given keys to room that was already occupied. The ice machines didn't work anywhere! Dryers didn't work at All- wasted money! Shower was mislabeled-hot and cold were switched; elevators were all out of order and we were on the 2nd floor! Overall not a good experience!. Breakfast-they said that they have a nice breakfast with waffles, biscuits and gravy etc, but Sunday morning they just had some bagels, muffins and cereal. It had just become a days inn confusing. The Shilo Inn had just been bought by another company and as such, the signs were are all painted over and unrecognizable. The rooms are in need updating. Maybe the new owner will fix things up. Pool was closed because water pump was out?. The hallways and room were very unclean. Lots of black mood in the shower made it unusable. Ice machines broken, hallway carpets very dirty. Marketed hot breakfast.....not provided. Markgeted sofa in room..none there.]Name had changed and it was hard to find. Laundry room was filthy Computer was screwed up.
