Evening clerk was most welcoming and had helpful recommendations for breakfast. She is a fine ambassador. She did turn on the thermostat, as asked, but it was set to Low Cool. I changed that to Low Heat. The room needed only a few minutes to warm up a few degrees. Very comfortable bed. Good reading lights. Very clean and comfortable room with modern fittings including flat screen tv and high speed internet. Comfortable bed, quiet, good strong shower, view of Washington side of gorge and Mt. Adams, Safeway right across the street.

We will be back to the Sunset Motel Hood River soon!!!. The man at the front desk was very friendly. The location was good. The room had more amenities than I expected such as refrigerator, microwave and hairdryer. Harry very friendly & thoughtful...gave us coupons for restaurants we inquired about...food turned out to be excellent! VERY comfortable beds!. Extremely helpful staff, quiet, opposite supermarket, free wf-fi, near good, economical restaurant. It was super clean and comfortable. Plus the bath tub was large enough for a comfortable bath. Room layout and helpfulness of manager Harry. Bed was excellent too. Very comfortable, great beds, lovely garden and meditation area. The room safe was locked and manager was apparently unable to open it and my laptop wouldn't fit in it anyway. She told me things would be safe in my room. I left my things in room for a (Great) day of skiing at Mt. Hood with an old buddy. She was right. There was nothing wrong at all!!!!. A little pricey when you add two dog fees ($30) to the tally. No artificial sweeteners in coffee condiment dish & only one regular coffee packet given, which made a weak pot... 2 would have made a better pot. nothing. We were told to return our keys, but the office was locked when we tried. Cannot think of any negative. Hood River hotels are expensive. small, crowded bathroom, no available coffee except for small pots with packets in room. not a thing. it had mildew on the ceiling over the shower and that can become a health hazard besides looking bad. rooms were a bit on the small size.
