The rooms were very large, and the bathrooms must have been recently renovated. Breakfast at the Inn had great food, great service, and was very reasonably priced. The wait staff was very helpful and answered our questions about the Inn and where to get apple cider donuts. We will definitely be visiting again. I loved the location, close to town. My room which was in the Captain's cottage (#20) was a suite on the second floor and was very spacious with a deck with a water view. I loved the old feel to the place as well.
all reviews » Bathroom was up to date and comfortable. Bedroom and sitting room were great and very homey. The total experience was very much to our our likeing as we enjoy the older and historical type settings. Antique setting-room was very nice with old wood furniture and charm. Lovely newly renovated bathroom.Very nice staff. Beautiful location on a marina; charming old fashioned room and magnificent pool; comfortable accomodations. Old fashioned, heart of America. Like going back home to your childhood home. Squeeky clean. It was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were nicely upgraded. Right on marina, close to town. The view from our room. Space. Location,and that the room had a sitting area. Old world charm. The house was nostalgic and historical. Good location and reasonable price. Comfortable bed. The location was convenient to town. Nothing. The only thing that could be better was the upkeep to the outside of the facilities, it just needs a good coat of paint, but I wouldn't let that deter me from returning because I definitely would. Carpet was slightly dirty and smelled STRONGLY of Fabreeze or some sort of carpet powder. All was excellent. A tiny bit away from the rest of the attractions but an interesting walk. Not a real drawback. Some of the decor seemed dated. very old and creaky, chair was uncomfortable, not enough pillows. Downstairs restaurant bar seemed dark and dingy though closed and empty when I viewed it - mid afternoon. Hotel needs some work, hall smelled like a old age home.price was a little high for this hotel. Room was not like photo. Pillows were uncomfortable, comforter was grubby. Heating system was poor. The thermostatic control often kept the heater on when the temperature was 10 degrees above the setting. It would be nice to have a writing table or desk in the room. bed linen poor quality. No hot water on second day. No room clean up for two days, towels left outside room. The property was dated, dirty,had an odor, and staff barely visible. Property misrepresented water view and balcony seemed unsafe for use. No amenities and very disappointing for the price. Exorbitant rate for a sad,tired property.
