The room was really, really nice. It was clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was always hot water, water pressure and the tub wasn't clogged. Almost every hotel we've been to has had no water pressure, limited hot water and either the sink or tub have always been clogged or had a very slow drain. The staff were fantastic and the hotel is well maintained and clean. The waterpark was awesome and the kids had a great time! We have found our new favourite hotel to stay while in Gran.
all reviews » I liked the staff, they we're helpful, I also enjoyed the beds as they were comfortable. Ur water park being part of the stay was really nice and I enjoyed the sitting area there. All staff I encountered were very friendly. The pool area has a fun waterslide and nice water features, making it attractive for families and groups. the front desk manager (Kayla?) has incredible customer service! she was helpful, prompt, and deserves a raise!. Good location and easy to find for travellers. Clean and good breakfast. I like this hotel. When I have question I got answer. Pool area, Check-in & Check-out. I nice clean room, it was good. I realize that there was renonvations, but the hotal outside the room seemed a little run down from my last stay there. I liked the beds!! They were so nice we didn't use the couch at all. The hot tub was a real treat considering the winter storm warning outside. The safe in room , the tv , the staff moved us instantly because we didn't like kids screaming by the pool. The room was very clean the location was good for my purposes. The kids enjoyed the pool and the location was handy. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The only thing that was a disappointment was that the hotel restaurant wasn't open. Some of the hotel room wasn't clean,.especially in the bathroom and the fan didn't work... the hotel is a little dated and I would like to see you offer a video rental service through the TV. The facilities are showing their age. The blankets are very, very thin - I was cold the first night before I figured out how to turn up the heat. The continental breakfast was not set up to move people through quickly so the line-up was very long both mornings. Pool was closed both times we wanted to use it. 9 - 10:30 pm and 9- 10 am.. Therefore we did not get to use it. Hot tub was open so we did use that but we went for the pool/waterslide. Pool maintenance man was downright unhelpful as to when it would reopen. Front desk staff were matter of fact about the maintenance being done and did not follow up on a separate request for more coffee packs for in room coffee machine. The receiptist did niot know the hotel and sent us in the wrong direction, taking three suitcases to the second floor only to find out the room was at the other side of the hotel. the coffee makers was not working, The reason we came to your hotel was because of the water pk for the Kids and the adults were in the pool drinking, throwing balls to the sitting areas. The kids were scared, and we had to take the 8 year old back to the room. The heat in the room would not turn down unless it was turned off. On it coldest setting it was still blowing hot air and the 9am wake up call from the maid was a real turn off. The extra charge on my credit card was unexspected as well. Having a pool room with barely any curtain and kids screaming at 8 am . They should really give their hotel rooms a good paint and fix things up to charge what they charge. I was above the spa and the room smelled of clorine the steps to the 2nd floor were not clean the phone needed to be un pluged as the message machine did not work I was unable to access the room on 3 occasions- problems with the key. I didn't find the rooms very clean and the humidity was really bad. The bathroom had puddles and our clothes got wet by the window. Booked a two queen room didn't have anymore available so the desk clerk put us in a handicapped room with two queens. The bathrooms are outdated, sink didn't drain properly. Doors were hard to shut. You had to push them hard to get them to shut. dirty carpets throughout. Damp and smelly carpet in room and whole room smelled. No room to exchange with. The rooms need maintenance and updating. Uncomfortable beds, towel shortage, no fridges available. Rooms needed to be updated and the price was a high for the condition of the rooms. Workout room was a sauna and out dated. I was asked to come back twice because the room wasn't cleaned. On the second time, I told the desk clerk then put us in a room that was clean. They did. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. It's just not organized or managed well. Hot tub was not working, halls were very hot humid and musty smelling. It took until supper time for our room to be made up, very short staffed on a weekend with hotel being full. One of our handicap room the heat did not work and my parents froze during the night, main thence tried to help with space heater but that stopped during the night. When spoke with staff next morning they gave a poor discount of $15 on a 129.00 room. Could not get Wi-Fi all weekend, Breakfast layout was poor we ended up going out for breakfast due to line( only waffles and line was long) outside door shook when wind blew, Hotel was aged with repairs needed. The place was in bad need of updating. The carpets throughout were filthy. the carpet in our room was not only dirty but rippled. One ceiling tile in the batroom was falling down. The towels were no longer white from age. No restaurant; staff; cost for the room; NO fridge; No rentals of fridge; smell in hallways; room without air conditioning;. The room was dated and old. The continental breakfast was way understaffed and lined up. The halls and the whole facility needs to be up dated. The carpet was dirty and ripped. The swimming area was poor-rusty bolts, dangerous slides-My 2 year old bang her head when she went down on the blue one. Some windows were broken. I would not have stayed there if I had known the condition of the motel. Outside streets were dirty. People sat in lawn chairs with bottles of beer- Very dirty and slummy. The first thing when we got there was that the room smelled liked pee. It was really gross. Then we get to the pool and there is mold all over the pool room and on the ropes in the pool. Also I later noticed mold in our room and moisture all over. There was so much moisture that the carpet felt wet, and the bathroom fan didn't work. I will not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. When we got to Howard Johnson I did not have a reservation even though I had a confirmation number from letsbookhotel.com. The WIFI would not work and staff suggested we call the service provider which we did with no satisfaction. The bathroom fan did not work nor did the blow dryer. The room did not have shampoo, facecloths or handtowels. When we arrived a white lifesaver was stuck to the carpet in the room. No food. 1. Wifi cut in and out 2. The toilet didn't flush 3. The pool attendant was rude, argumentative and yelled at patrons. 4. There were no towels in the poolside area for over 4 hours. 5. The carpets hadn't been vaccuumed in some time. cockraoch fell out of my pants after i had a shower.needs new windows room was ice cold all night. not that clean way to high price building needs updates really bad would have a hard time staying there agian. First of all, we were put in the smoking room, then we complained and they changed the room. Did not get wii fi free internet in our as promised, we complained everyday but nothing was done. Our alcohol went missing but apparently the cleaning staff threw it out which we don.t believe. They gave us $20 discount. The carpet is dirt. For the price we paid we could have stay somewhere better. Water park was closed. Hbo was avertised but did not work. Way to much snow and ice in the parking lot and sidewalks ( I fell ) I booked a Queen room with 2 beds I got a king witk one. The place was a mess. There was feces on the bathroom floor in the lobby. When they cleaned our room they never bothered to restock it with towels or cups. When we called down for something we either never got it or it took forever.
