The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent. Normally, I think it is reasonably priced, but like the other hotels in the area, the prices were a bit higher due to family weekend. Great location. Older hotel but well kept and very clean. Room was very large and clean even though it is a bit old and worn. Comfy bed and easy walking distance to restaurants.
all reviews » It was on the same street as most of the history of the civil war. We walked to several museums. The breakfasts were sufficient for myself and 2 13 year olds. the staff was excellent from the check in desk to the housekeeping. very pleasant and friendly. extremely helpful when asked questions. Great location, close to everything. Hallways appeared a little dingy & run down but the rooms were clean & freshly decorated. From the friendly staff, to the clean & spacious rooms, this hotel was exactly what I was looking for, and well within my budget!. The location (adjacent to the National Cemetery and a short walk to many monuments and battlefields) was wonderful. we liked our room very much. the staff was very freindly. very close to the convention center and easy to get to. We needed a one night accommodation near the college at a favorable price and that's what we got. Convenience of location. Room size is great and facilities are great. Very clean. The location was excellent...walking distance to alot of attractions. Clean room, plenty of towels, pleasant staff, quick breakfast foods. The parking was easily accessible. refridge for room as I have meds that need refridgeration. the pool looked nice but we didn't have time to swim. easy to find attractions nearby. There really wasn't much that I didn't like except maybe the coffee and the condiments that go with the coffee. Wish they had coffee maker in the room. No refrigerators on the second floor. Not good for a several days visit. The motel did give us a room on the first. But we should not have had to be relocated for what we needed. the beds are old, hard and the box springs were stained on the sides heavily. the windows are old and the ac never really cooled the room down because they wouldn't close completely. there should be key access from the outside doors rather than the need to go into a hallway after dark to access the upstairs. No fridge or coffee making facilities in the room. While using the vending machine, my packet of chips got stuck, and I cut my finger banging the machine... The hotel is quite old-fashioned. We thought of it as very "retro" and enjoyed it but visitors who expect a more modern facility might be a bit disappointed. the only thing wrong was the space between the bottom of the door and the sill, was a gap large enough to allow a small rodent access to the room. We rolled a towel and put it there to keep the cold air out. But that was the only problem. There wasn't anything . NO coffee pot or little fridge. Made it hard to keep my little girls drinks cold. Would like to have a coffee pot in the room. A little out-dated and run down. a/c very loud, balcony light too bright, kept me awake. tea/coffee only available during breakfast hours. maybe breakfast could have a better selection. had trouble with key card at all doors except the hotel room. no refrigerator in the room - breakfast could be a little better - it should have a flat screen tv on the wall giving more space - a couple of more lounge chairs will be nice. Parking lot. Nothing in particular, pretty stock standard motel in a small town. I didn't like being on the same floor as people who had dogs in their rooms. This wasn't clearly communicated. The breakfast was described by the staff as a bit more than what we found it to be. no updates to the rooms. unprofessional staff Awful breakfeast.
