The manager responded to the inoperable in-room movies by providing us with a complimentary breakfast. The buffet breakfast was amazing! The pool area is very family friendly with two indoor slides. The lobby area is very warm, yet expansive. The views from the balconies are fantastic, especially the higher floors. The desk and restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is at the best location. The view is amazing. Amazing. The beds are very comfortable, the staff is helpful. (Thank you Tiffany for working with us and changing our room!) The rooms are clean, the view from the bar is great as well, the fire pit is a very nice touch. That is our second stay here and I have recommended the hotel to all my friends. Great hotel.
all reviews » I really liked the room and enjoyed the stay. The room was very clean and quiet and the view was fantastic! We stayed in Gatlinburg, TN and a trolly would pick us up right at the door so we didn't even have to take the car if we didn't want to! The pool there was really great also. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Loved our stay. A little bit far from main strip. Trolley was provided but had to wait for long time to get back to Hotel.Rooms nice bathroom had no vent fan. Not to friendly for rest of family. Take air freshener. Cookies are to die for. I bought a supply to bring home. Love this place. The cookies... Wonderful welcoming touch. The rooms were spacious. The fire pit on the outside was a nice touch. The lady at the bar was very nice. We came in late one night and she was gracious enough to serve us when she was closing down. It was a great experience. Enjoyed our recent stay. Accommodations were nice. Mountain view from room balcony. Also liked the birds in the lobby. Would be nice if there was information posted as to what type of birds they were. We relaxed in the hot tub and the waterslide was fun. Everything! My husband and I were finishing off our honeymoon with a trip to Gatlinburg and the villages and we stayed here and didn't want to leave!!! It was so great to come back after a long day of sightseeing and relax in a heated indoor pool regardless of how cold it was outside. The slides were also great too. Everyone was very nice, everything was well maintained and anything you asked for was promptly delivered. Room service was great and the quantity of food given was more than sufficient. The hotel was in a beautiful location. The room was nice and clean. We had to leave a day early and the hotel allowed us to cancel with a $25.00 cancellation fee. I liked the hotel very much. The shower head was leaking so it sprayed on the ceiling - minor inconvenience. The heating unit was noisy, so we had to turn it off to get to sleep. The temps in the room stayed pretty warm without it. Some rooms are close to the main air conditioner and makes staying on the terrace very unpleasant because of the noise. The bathroom vent didn't work. That we didn't book more nights :). There was a swarm of ladybugs that were just everywhere. Ido understand that wasn't the fault of the hotel. It did make it unpleasant to go in the balcony. Other than that it was wonderful. An outdoor pool(s) could have been nice ..... but with bears roaming the grounds - I understand why the pool complex was inside the motel. The grill was closed for renovation. That was the only negative. I did not like the wi-fi policy of the hotel. I am aware many hotels charge for in room wi-fi by the day, but this hotel also charged per device. As we were traveling with two laptops, two smart phones and one iPad. This would have cost me $50 more per day. We only used our laptops, but this $20 charged still seems excessive. When I complained they did remove one of the charges. Still it should only have been a charge per room. There was only one person on duty for check in and I had to wait 25 minutes. The room service was very disappointing, waited over a hour to get my food sent to room, and it arrived cold, nothing like getting food cold, charged way too much, very disappointed , the beds were a little rough to sleep on, they need to invest in new a mattress. Had to pay extra if you want wi fi in your room. Low lighting everywhere--especially in bathroom area. Parking a problem during conventions. Doors to hotel locked for our late arrival. I didn't like that I had to go to the lobby to get free internet. I thought the breakfast was a little much considering most places give you a free breakfast. I wish the pool was a bit bigger and the hot tub was away from the pool. A lot of kids which is fine we have a kid but for time to relax it would have been nice. One night had no hot water for showers (maybe bad timing or something?). The dining area had a hard time getting a meal one night, tried going up to the room after waiting at a table for 20 minutes and called room service who put me on hold for 5 minutes, then didn't answer the phone the next 4 times I called. Had to go BACK down to the dining room and they tried to be accommodating - they were short staffed so the hostess waited on us... Gatlinburg itself was depressing - Traffic is horrible and the shopping is cheap tourist junk. Did not like that there was no option for a free breakfast. It was not walking distance to the main road but a trolley can by every 30 minutes or so to take you downtown. The staff seemed unorganized. Had trouble getting in a room even though it was prepaid. The person at desk on check in on 4-13-13 check was a bit cold. Bathrooms to small cramped. small bugs from trees were able to make it into the room on multiple locations. Multiple Rooms with same problem. Need better balcony doors to keep pests out. The mattresses need to be replaced. Uncomfortable and lumpy. The restraunt was slow and the food was cold but the staff was friendly. Overall the lodgin was a bit pricey. room had some dust in the corners.The wait staff in the restaurant was a little slow. Parking. The food from room service. The eggs didn't taste like fresh eggs almost like a powder mix or something. The pancakes were terrible too. I can't think of any thing. our bed was way too soft for us.. just a personal thing. the person/ people 2 doors down were smoking in their room.. the smell was quite apparent in the hallway. Our first room was overlooking the roof. The desk was smart enough to change our room to a suitable one. Thank you. Clean carpet in service elevators, not a big problem. Our room was just outside the elevator and the ice machine so it was very noisy, hard to get to sleep. There was a crying baby in the adjoining room that woke us up very early (530/6am) 2 days in a row and after having a tough time falling asleep with the elevator and ice machine noise, not a great place to rest after a day of activities and lots of walking. the wait staff at the resturant was inattentive. Room to close to elevator noise. Wind howling at night through sliding doors. The free internet is non existant. The long winding road up to the hotel. The spider webs in our room. The high prices in the bar and dining room. carpet in my room was old, some updates are needed/ found grape by night stand from previous guest. not crazy about being on 15th floor staff in restaurant not friendly. No wifi! Nowadays it's mean not to offer such a basic service! The décor of the central court could be enhanced especially when moving to the upper levels. 2 1/2 hour chech in, my room was given to someone else, 2 other rooms we given me but both we occupied when I tried to enter. Would not try this again. Very disatisifed!!!!!. had no wi-fi. staff very rude. never will stay in a hilton again or recommend them to anyone. Our door to our balcony was off track and stayed open about a foot all night. They told us twice someone was coming to fix..after waiting noone came. Because of this the room temperature was horrible. No response from hotel. ... The elevators were all broken and the bathroom was not clean also the people at the desk could use some lessons on better customer service not really helpful and not 4 stars either. There was no hot water. Most of the tv station did not work and the way it was designed it sounded like we were in a wind tunnel the whole stay. Could not sleep because of this.
