The staff at Johnson's Inn were very accommodating. The rooms were very clean. I was impressed at how thorough the cleaning staff were. Everything was well maintained and we were close to the strip of stores I like in Gatlinburg. It was walking distance to the Aquarium which was a huge plus. The fireplace was a nice touch although I did not need it during July. Great location next to the "The Village", the nicest group of shops and atmosphere in downtown Gatlinburg. The covered balcony was nice to enjoy the view.
all reviews » We liked the rooms and the great location. It was within walking distance to lots of resturants and shops as well as other attractions. For the price this was a great motel. We will definately stay there again. We've stayed at Johnson's numerous times and appreciate the cost and cleanliness, and the proximity to the park and restaurants.It is also just off the main street so it remains quiet and restful. Location of the Inn and the cleanliness of the room. The only staff person we met was friendly. The bed was very comfortable. We felt the price was reasonable considering the season (fall). Super location just off the parkway. You juat cant beat it for the price. Air conditioning works great. Good water pressure in the shower. Everything was clean. It was fairly clean and a good value for the money. Our room didn't have an overpowering smell when you walked in like most older rooms in Gatlinburg. Location, Price. Can easily walk to all attractions Gatlinburg has to offer, without all the noise of being right on the main strip. The Inn was lovely. The rooms were older but clean and well kept. Within walking distance to shopping, attractions and hiking. We loved the location, only a block from downtown Gatlinburg. It was quite, clean and affordably priced. We enjoyed our stay!!. Always enjoy the arbor and the creek (feeding ducks). Wish our parents were still here to enjoy this like they always did. We've stayed there off and on for 28 years. We love the creek and our children were raised in that creek. The convenience to downtown and the quiet area. Johnson's has a great location. I have stayed here before. but it is time for complete upgrade of the rooms. The beds were old and the heavy metal springs inside were worn and squeaked as we tossed and turned. You could feel them through the mattress though the sheets smelled clean and were soft. The bedspreads were "grandma chic" and I did not care for them though they were in keeping with the decor of the room. We were one flight up but there were no elevators. Handicapped patrons would not make it up the stairs as they were steep. No complaints. Room was basic, but nice with a fireplace upgrade. The "only" thing that we found that needed some attention was the sink in room was clogged up and you need some drink/snack machines. We only met one person representing the Inn, the one who checked us in. It was a smaller operation than we thought it would be and the room itself, although containing a King sized bed, was small. The air was a little difficult to figure out how to adjust and it was loud. A bit dated. Toilet didnt seal right so the water would run periodically and that was noisey. Flipped the lever and that solved it between flushes. Beds were harder than most but we were so tired it didnt matter.. Room smelled like strong baby powder or somerhing when we checked in. You could hear the noise from the common hallway in the rooms. We thought we would have a balcony overlooking a stream. Hotel could use more modern updates... but for the price, it was better than expected... Hotel was dated. Could use some TLC and updating. The only complaint I have is that when the toilet seat was lifted up, there was hair and also some pee. Toilet definitely should have been cleaned better. we had no problems at all. No continental breakfast. Room was not in hotel pictured. It was in old hotel and you had to walk across the street to the pool. Left a day early but would have stayed if I could have laid out by the pool. Wi-Fi would connect but not strong enough to surf internet no iron in room no hair dryer in room. Went to take a shower and bathe the kids and no hot water. Had to wait until the am and made us late getting started for the road trip home. need new beds small tv need to have close time for pool was woke up at 2 am from kids playing in pool. No hairdryer in room. No microwave either. noisy motorcycle group up all night and reving up loud cycles in am. Rooms need to be updated. Hot water tap in tub leaked. all was fine. The motel was older and showed it. I have no dislikes. no smoking rooms. Very dated. did not have a fresh smell. outdated tv & room. Small. no hair dryer, microwave in room had to ask for them in office. The carpet needed a good vaccuuming. Bedspread needs to fit better so the floor under it may be cleaned. Sink was clogged. Brushed our teeth in the bathtub. This hotel has been here for a long time. The rooms and furniture are old and need replacement. There is no excuse for loose towel bars and leaky faucets. It's time to get to do a complete make over.
