This motel was quite a surprise. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The lady at the desk(didn't get her name) was great. A pleasure to deal with someone so nice. The lady that took care of the breakfast room was also great. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling thru the mid west. Would stay there again if we ever come back. This was one of the best places we stay at on our trip of 2 weeks.Some we paid twice as much and those should have been boarded up,,,really .
all reviews » The hotel was 1 block away from downtown. Shopping and restaurants were very close. There were many day excursions to see - Crazy Horse memorial, Crystal Caves, Mount Rushmore and the Nature Drive that will thrill families. The staff were excellent!. Location was great for Custer State Park and other attractions. Custer SD has some good restaraunts in town. It was bike week, so we knew the area would be crowded. Bikers staying at the hotel were quiet and courteous; we slept well. Simple, easy access to all sights, check-in and check-out. Good accommodations located in town and block away from all shops. Free popcorn in lobby was a pleasant extra. the rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was friendly and accommodating, even offered their breakfast room for our family to have a pizza party in. Location. The town was small with a nice main street with shops and some good places to eat. Quiet and peaceful and close to all attractions. Hotel staff was very nice. Clean rooms and hallways. Smelled fresh! For breakfast this hotel has fresh eggs!. You can rely on the quality of a days in motel. The proximity to the Badlands. Very clean. Easy access to destination of state park, one block from main street close to dining attractions and businesses.Room clean, though small. location was good, building was older but was clean. fresh eggs you cooked yourself was fun and very good. Large area for continental breakfast. Close to attractions. Central location to many attractions. The centralness to the city. It was well located. Location. clean. I liked the town of Custer and the location of the hotel. Breakfast. location. The hotel is dated but very clean. The small grill in the breakfast area where everyone had to cook their own eggs on it..YUK. Get down there early ...... Showerhead need to be cleaned. Breakfast was poorly attended to...food not replenished, griddle for fried eggs was gross and needed to be replaced, and tables were not cleaned. Price may be high a lot advertised at $69. No elevator, no greeting from staff. parking was not good. Dated hotel, although it appears they are attempting to correct. Seemed expensive for the quality but is a tourist town and was in line with other hotels. Poor room fittings, Plugs (sink, bath) not sealing. Bed uncomfortable (was fixed when reported). The bed was quite small. No pool available. It is very road weary. Bed most uncomfortable, bad smell in room,perhaps a plumbing issue. Cooking my own breakfast TV needs upgrading. breakfast- went down to breakfast at 9:30 which ended at 10:00,the employee working the breakfast room started putting food away when we had 30 minutes before it ended, which was rude.This happened twice. was expensive for the area compared to rates advertised at other hotels in the area. I did not like the hotel. It was old and out of date. The breakfast was poor, the accommodations were poor and there was no feeling of comfort. Mattress has plastic cover. The breakfast was not up to date for today's times. worker cleaned trash can inside breakfast room causing excess odor. There wasn't any forks or knifes. It smelled like dogs had been inside the breakfast room.
