My wife and I spent 5 nights in Microtel. We liked our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room had microwave, refrigerator and TV, the air conditioning worked great so we felt comfortable, the room was clean. The breakfast was not so various but good enough to start the day (tea, coffee, cereal, baking, cheese and jam). the location was convenient, Walmart is within walking distance (10 minutes), 2 bus stops.
all reviews » Excellent experience! Staff was exceptional - we had been traveling for several days and needed a laundromat. The desk clerk was very helpful and also suggested a good dinner spot. Beautiful room with large, comfortable beds and cute window seat! We will make this a regular stop on the way through Charlotte in the future!. I booked a non-smoking room and they had me in a smoking room. With my asthma Kasey Coleman made sure I had a non-smoking room, which the other lady was not going to give me. The room was clean, linens were fresh and bed was comfortable. Truly good value for the money. quiet and clean room. very close to the university and lots of nearby restaurants. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay there again. loved the distance from the racetrack and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the location, staff was friendly and room was suprisingly clean. Friendly staff. Wasn't a luxury hotel but clean and worth the money. the furnishings and décor was very nice. the beds were comfortable. Noise from the other guests who were above our room....it was so noisy that I almost left...next time I will request for a room on the top floor. I was on the ground floor. letsbookhotel.com did NOT forward the reservation to the hotel and i had to wait. it was 9pm by then and the desk lady had told me i was the 6th one that day with the same problem but got me a room very quickly. good thing i brought my email confirmation. whistling noise that the shower gave off while running. the breakfast area was very small with few food choices. The room was a bit small. On one day, breakfast was cleared 15 minutes early. The washing machine was out of order. Could be cleaner, broken toilet, worn and stained carpet. agency doesn't accept valid traverler's checks waited for room to be cleaned for nearly 40 - 45 minutes despite 3 pm arrival time. On arrival we had to wait 45 minutes to have our room cleaned. n/a. noise from traffic.roadworks outside. breakfast couldve been a little better. We got there and they only had 1 room booked for us instead of the 3 rooms we had booked. They did find us two rooms but it wasn't what I booked. We were very disappointed and had to wait awhile to check in. The hotel did not have adequate staff on hand to deal with the amount of guests checking in. Their was only one young woman on duty and though she did a great job she needed some help. There were a lot of people checking in due to the Nascar race and she could not adequatly help everyone at once. She was very friendly and knowledgable but one person can only do so much. Little run down. Not really a hotel for families with young children. No kettle in room for boiling water for baby's bottles. Housekeeping service almost non-existend. We stayed for 3 nights and the bin was emptied every day and we got clean towels, but nothing else.. not even the beds were made or work areas in room and bathroom wiped.. This hotel needs to be updated, the lobby smells musty, the breakfast wasn't good and the bathroom had previously had repairs done that were tacky and dirty. I didn't like the long blonde hair hanging from the blow dryer & the dusty cord; the spider hanging from its web from bathroom vent; the lumpiness of the mattress; & the visibly dried-on wetness on the toilet seat (like where it was wiped with cleaner & not dried). Also the only ice machine working was on 1st floor, elevator wasn't working and 2nd floor was booked. TV is little old. The halls in the hotel were extremely run down. Room was very small and old. Bed was lumpy. Not very clean. Would never stay there again. Staff and cleanliness. Staff needed more help and able to read what was on the reservation request, cost , etc. Staff also needed help with cleaning. Body fluid on the bed linens; the icemaker on the other side of our leaking and our floor would actually splash when we walked; other customers propping the access door open with a door stop for anybody to access for the party they seemed to be having in the room directly above us, the smoke detector's battery chirping at 4:00 A.M. Drug activity in lobby, prostitution in parking lot, foul smell in lobby and room, etc. breakfast could have gone longer I missed it because it ended at 9am I am on vac will never stay at on of you motels again. Room was too small Noisy neighbors kept us awake Clerk couldn't find my reservation Could not enter hotel at door closest to my room because the key wouldn't work. I didn't get the room I expected. The bath room was not clean, there was a rat/mice in the kitchen/breakfast area, the window was left open and flies and misquoting was inside. The elevator was broken. The elevator was out of service. This was the worst hotel I haae ever stayed at in my life!. The place was very dirty and the floors in the rooms were black with dirt.and they were spraying the rooms for bugs when we came back from shopping.my wife bottoms of her feet black from dirty floors .I got bit by some bug on the foot.they would not let us canel our room.never going to stay in a Microtel again.
