The suite was roomy and well laid out. The front desk had a packet of materials about the area prepared for us for our arrival. The breakfast room was cheery and well laid out. The choices for breakfast were great. Their evening shuttle to downtown operated perfectly for drop off and pick-up and added to the relaxation of the trip. The reception was courteous. We were a tad early but no mention was made of it. We had a lovely room. We very much enjoyed the hot tub and pool. And the breakfast was awesome. Even though the hotel is not in the historic sector, their shuttle service renders that practically null.

Would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff is always responsive and welcoming, whether at the front desk, the breakfast buffet or housekeeping. We always stay at this hotel when we visit Charleston several times a year. - Social hour which included complimentary food and alcohol. - Free shuttle service to and from downtown Charleston. - Size of rooms - Great for extended stay due to kitchen facilities. Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with family members for a wedding and had very comfortable and roomy accommodations with a home-like atmosphere. Breakfast was a nice plus for us. Great location, close to downtown. Very convenient to have the shuttle. Buffet breakfast excellent. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff made you feel welcome. The staff there are the absolute best! Especially Robin, the desk host. The ambience of the whole place is relaxing. Breakfast is very good. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we have ever had while traveling! The staff was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. the plantations and harbour tours were fantastic.we enjoyed the horseback riding at the middleton plantation.we loved the downtown shops. We depended on our gps to get to the hotel and it was really a difficult place to get to. Next time I will call the hotel for directions, too. Once we arrived in the area of the hotel, I actually drove past it because the sign was not very visible from the road. There was nothing that we didn't like. I got tired of eggs and sausage every morning but there was a wide variety of other choices. - Noisy Aircon unit in bedroom. We switched rooms which solved the problem. It would be nice if one of the bathrooms you could access without having to go inside a bedroom so guests sleeping on sleeper sofa would not feel they are intruding during the night. No sheets or blankets were available for the sofa bed in spite of booking for 3 people in the suite. While the shuttle was great, we had to walk over to the adjacent hotel for pick-up. There appeared no reason why the shuttle could nit stop at our hotel to pick up. Nothing. We are frequent guests there. Mattress was older and not very comfortable, in-suite furniture was not comfortable. Glassware in-suite was not clean. The location was not good for anyone without a car. Could walk to almost nothing. We were not "downtown" nor was there a riverview. I was very disappointed with the location. We were able to hire the shuttle driver to take us places during the day. The only negative was the location, it was hard to find. The noise of our neighbor who came back to their room at 2 am and make noise until 4 am. Difficult to find at night/ poorly lit on the outside. ( We did arrive in a rainstorm.). I did like the room but the kitchen & bathroom need some updating. Shower head made a whistling sound at 3 am and woke us up. Went back to sleep and then 30 minutes later the couple in the room next to us were having very noisy sex from 4 - 6 am. It was so bad they were shaking our headboard through the wall. Didn't get much sleep that night. I didn't like the fact animals were permitted in the dinning area " /. It was not downtown it was really located at the marina and no place to walk to. The hotel offered a shuttle service to down town but only at night. Parking downtown is hard to find and pricey. Room had strong odor. Breakfast area not cleaned enough. Bed was too small.
