When we arrived (about 10:30pm)the gentleman was very friendly and accomodating..upgraded our room which turned out to be perfect with lots of room. Because we were not there for business or pleasure but for our daughter who will be having medical treatments for the next 6mths.. the manager suggested working with us on the price if we continued to stay at their hotel, which was something we were hoping for. Very awesome. Breakfast had a good variety and surroundings were very clean in room,hall.
all reviews » Loved it! The Condor is truly a small diamond in the rough of Brooklyn. Incredibly clean, comfortable, and accommodating. Especially appreciated John at the front desk, and his help with public transit directions. All of the desk staff were great. The patio in the back is a great asset, as is the free breakfast. Will definitely return if my daughter attends Pratt. Everything. The pleasant front desk staff, the cleanliness, the efficient morning breakfast included in my package, their attentiveness to detail and the high quality of the hotel. I really want to stress the cleanliness because that's the #1 thing I look for in a hotel. They met my expectations. King bed was comfortable and linens were upscale. Bathroom was well appointed--especially liked the jacuzzi tub. Breakfast was nice--especially waffles you make yourself. Like coffee in room in addition to the continental breakfast downstairs. Love, love this hotel!. My husband and I have enjoyed several stays at the Condor. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The hotel is modern and tastful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The Condor is exceptional, you will not find a better value. Helpful, courteous, staff. Comfortable bed. Quiet. The lobby, though small, had a welcoming appearance and the receptionist was friendly and efficient. My room was pleasantly furnished and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Loved the friendliness of all the staff and the lovely lemon drink and choc cookies welcoming me to the hotel after a day out exploring NYC. The area is safe but a little dirty but the hotel is an oasis. Loved it, wanted to take the bed home. The customer service was great! Everyone was very willing to help. I also enjoyed the location. Although it is in a small area, it is in a safe environment and close to different restaurants. The staff were seriously great at the Condor, a good value, clean and modern hotel, especially if you're not keen on staying in manhattan, but still want access to the city. Would stay again. Lighting, clean, balcony, pillows. Staff was great. The bedroom was very good. The cookies at the front desk. My suggestion is that the bathroom have a shelf or counter to put your things (clothes,cosmetics and stuff in general) especially when sharing with another person. My other suggestion is a larger TV for the rooms..because of the small size it made it diffucult to lay in bed to watch. My only complaint was that parking is a little inconvenient/scary, but I come from the suburbs. I know it’s not an easy thing in the city. It was a little hard getting to the city from the there but not extremely. The location ended being quiet and peaceful because of the community its situated in. So in the end, its not really a con. My room had a nice balcony, facing a brick wall! The bathroom faucet was loose, I could lift it off. The maintenance man came promptly to fix it. The designer sink drained too slowly - a design fault imho. The kitchenette faucet was too close to the backsplash. Ten minute walk to the subway, the "G" train. My room was immediately adjacent to the lobby, and the first night there I was awakened several times around 5:00 a.m. by someone talking at full voice for quite a while. The next morning, I complained to the receptionist, who said that she would ask the night receptionist to make sure to keep the lobby quiet during the night. There were no disturbances the next night. This may have been an anomaly, but I would suggest trying to avoid the rooms right off the lobby. there was nothing I did not like about my stay. Our balcony backed onto an alley, but this wasn't an issue as we were there for a night only and explored Williamsburg the next day. Breakfast could have been more interesting and healthy. We lacked bread and yoghurt without sugar. (But we are from Denmark - perhaps Americans prefer it as it is...). Location. It seems to be nothing around but a dirty industrial state. On the other side, it is a safe area. My trip ended early. On the king bed there were separate covers. I would prefer one cover. Location was strange. Room was not as spacious as expected. my room was on the first floor- too close to lobby and could hear people talking in early AM. More options at breakfast. Didn't feel like the best value, also there was a patio, but it faced a wall, so not much of a view. not enough covers. would have preferred a full bed rather than 2 twins/doubles put together to make "1". The breakfast was not that great. The air conditioning unit was so loud we slept with ear plugs in. The breakfast room is poor. The location was bad and the room wasn't clean. I had an emergency and the manager didn't want to help me. My credit card was charged & the hotel just took my money and rented the room to someone else.
