The staff both at the Lodge and the amazing restaurant attached (The Fat Spy) were wonderful. The rooms are charming and clean and the town is beautiful. There are great places to eat and it is an easy drive to hiking, the mountains, etc. The Staff and the generosity and personalities made me feel completely welcome and cared for. Their helpfullness exceeds any expectations by far. The Lodge itself is charming and clean with spacious rooms and the food is good too.
all reviews » Hotel room newly and nicely redecorated with new bedding. Barman friendly with excellent advice on where to visit. Food and drink in bar good. Breakfast included and cooked to order. I felt at home. Staff was extremely helpful and gracious. They went out of their way to assist me in making my stay enjoyable. Meals were excellent, especially my steak dinner. Friendly staff, comfortable, quiet nights. We have booked a room that did not come with breakfast, however we were offered complimentary breakfast on our second day. Nice touch!. Typical Vermont ski lodge atmosphere. Quaint decor with unique furnishings. Free breakfast included with room was great! One night stay on a weekend was a plus. Very friendly staff, large room with enough space, good breakfast. Perfect place to start from when heading for the leaf foliage in southern and mid Vermont. The hostess was delightful and charming - really added to the ambiance. -wish I knew her name, though. (Maybe she said it, and I didn't 'catch it'. ). Great location. Unfortunately we stayed only one night. There was a sense of calmness at this place. Definitely would come back. We liked the pet friendly policy of the hotel. The room was very spacious, and the location was great. Relaxing, good food, and staff was friendly. Our room was quiet and we did not hear other quests. The little decorative touches in my room were very nice, and the staff was absolutely lovely. very comfortable and quiet. nice old time charm but well-kept up. Very comfortable beds, very home like feel unlike most hotels. The shuttle and the proximity to Stratton. Everything was fine. Would stay again. The place has charm. We were there off season and it was very quiet. We had dinner at the restaurant and the waiter was very obliging. The staff was great. The room was a great size. It is close to the Mt. The lodge was inexpensive and pet-friendly. Room was cute and clean!. Staff at the front desk was very nice, location was good. Really nothing except a good breakfast. Great staff, the dinner was good. nothing. Musty smell in corridor, probably due to redecoration and re-laying of flooring in progress in that area, and from open basement door. Nothing comes to mind. I was wishing for better control over the TV, and it would have been nice to have a cushiony loveseat between the foot of the bed and the coffee table, perhaps, to watch TV. Two chairs were provided, but they were not suitable for getting comfy in front of a TV for 'downtime'. Our room needed a serious facelift. The ceiling had obvious water damage, the toilet seat was attached by just one bolt making a "sit down" a bit of a challenge and the vanity was very worn. We also felt the $120 pet deposit a bit extreme for a three night stay. Staff was new and for the most part clueless. The bathtub had glass shower doors which fell on my husband.This was extremely frightening. After he was out of the shower I told the owner and her response was inappropriate. She actually got in her car and drove away without talking to him. The rooms needed more light especially during the day. Something to brighten it up. The wood and kindling should have been in the room and not have the quest bring it in. That should have been listed on the site. I think a discount should have been in order. It could use an update, though especially for the price. The room had a few spiderwebs and looked like it was in need of a deep cleaning. It looked much nicer online than it actually was in person. The wood was so wet that my boyfriend spent hours with fire. It was cold in our room and after a day of skiing I wanted to be warm. We were visiting in November and there was snow on the ground and the hotel had no heat. Walls are paper thin and we could hear every sniffle and hiccup (and SNORE) from next door. Room & overall hotel decor is very outdated (e.g., stained carpets, 1960s bathrooms, ripped towels, etc.). Think of this place more as a hostel than as a hotel and your expectations will be in line with what you get. were not prepared no toilet paper, very very hot no a/c gave us a small window unit. no window for it. they had it run on rug in room.. tooooo hot that nite . had free cooked to order breakfest part of deal.. didnt stay for it just wanted to leave. i would go back if they had things running correct. no drinks in vending machines, no internet but they gave us password ..hello??. Not clean, low standard, time to renovate.. Our accomodations were musty, the bed smelled musty. I had an allergy attack and up most of the nite. I cancelled our next nights stay. I also booked for another couple and their commode ran all nite til he got up and tried to fix it. We all agreed we would not go back to this establishment. It did not meet our housekeeping standards in anyway. I would not recommend this b and b to anyone. everything.
