This hotel exceeded our expectations in every respect. Conveniently located relatively close to Death Valley at a fraction of the cost of staying in the valley & the large suite rooms at the back have mountain views to die for. Dinner, Breakfast & Bar had regular value for money specials with helpful staff ready to go the extra mile with extra requests. The buy 2 nights get 3rd night free offered by Booking .com via Trip Advisor represents outstanding value. Free drinks at the Bar if yo.
all reviews » What a nice oasis in environing dryness! This hotel was in the middle of nowhere on our way to Death Valley. It is charming, with its basins welcoming ducks swimming in front of the rooms. Very relaxing. The rooms are ok, clean. Inside of hotel is somehow a mix between western and 70's / 80's casino, we loved it, with its particular atmosphere. Free wifi, working well. The food served at restaurant was excellent, too! Quite close to Death Valley Park. stayed 2 nights in sept 2013. our room was in the average of a tidy californian motel: big, clean, a little kitsch, and well insulated by the heat outside. The restaurant has a variety of plates, we enjoyed it. There is also a casino, a minimarket and a little pool which we did not use. Price is not low, but it is located very near to death valley junction. I found it very comfortable and quiet. liked the quaintness of the traditional hotel which had great character,price of beer very cheap,food good and overall was excellent value for money. enjoyed watching the saturday night karaoke quite suprised it wasnt busier,although not in centre of death valley its only a short drive and am sure a lot cheaper than the valley hotels. The location for visiting Death Valley is excellent. The setting in the desert is wonderful, get a room overlooking the lake for a super view. Food was simple, but good value and served by friendly staff. Don't be put off by the term casino, I only saw rows of slot machines. Liked the memorabilia the owner has collected. It was such fun!! the bikers were there...the locals were there singing karaoke and doing line dancing, the food was good and reasonable, the rooms were clean except the windowsills had little dead flies on them but it was at the side of a pretty lake and you were advised not to open the windows/doors. we loved it!!... We spent Saturday night at the inn/casino prior to our trip to Death Valley. This is Americana at its best. You just can't beat watching the locals doing karaoke - Mr. Larry and Phil among others. Although the room was shabby chic, the view to the lake was very pretty. I would definitely stay here again. A welcome sight in the middle of nowhere! Lovely grounds with a duck pond and walking paths. Front desk staff was friendly. Decor was wild west theme based but not overdone. Restaurant service was great and the menu had typical American dishes. Rooms spacious, clean and well-appointed for the price range. The atmosphere was right out of the old west. We enjoyed roaming around the property looking at the antiques. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent as was the service. The prices were just right. We were also impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. This was our second stay at Longstreet because we consider it a great stoping place on our way to Death Valley from Las Vegas. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The restaurant being inside the hotel is very good and pretty much all you need is on the premises. The lady at the front desk, Penny, was so kind and very helpful. I lost my wallet on the way to Amargosa, and she immediately called the several people to ask if they found anything. Also rooms were very neat and spacious. The restaurant serves good food for little money. Everything...the karaoke with Frank and Rose was a lot of fun. This is an absolute Oasis in the desert plus its proximity to the Death Valley NP makes it an ideal location for anyone planning a trip out there. Longstreet Inn is a good stop over place, we used it on our way from west coast to Las Vegas, enabled us to see Death Valley and Red Rock enroute. good menu, spacious room with lake view, quiet, good location for long distance travellers and those visiting Death Valley. Satnav gave some problems with the address; but it is very easy to find if you drive about 8miles North from Death Valley Junction. we loved it!..on;y the dead flies(not really big flies just tiny ones!!). There was nothing to dislike. not A thing!. The towel bar in room 102 kept falling apart. More places to hang towels and clothes would be good. Except for the hotel, there's really nothing around for miles. Strange prison gate on first floor 10pm closing time of restaurant and bar. There should be a sign on the casino slot machines that states it is "hand pay out only". Perhaps it is time to upgrade TV, I have not seen a wired remote for a few decades. Only other criticism, staff was unaware that the government had shut down the Parks. Once they did know they were able to suggest what to do... Can't think of anything. Wifi didn't work in the room, but if you sit near the casino it worked really well. A bit too much smoke smell in the slots area when someone lights one up. They don't have a refrigerator in the room and the air conditioning in the summer takes a while to cool room down. Hint: Call them and ask them to turn it on before you get there...they are very accomodating. Nothing. While it was budget friendly it seemed a bit "worn." Perhaps because it was season's end the water fall was stopped and in need of cleaning--had trash in it, bad smell, bad water. As a casino it is no Las Vegas. scary mannequin in the lobby, the AC was a bit noisy. Would have liked a refrigerator in the room. The walls were a bit thin and we could hear conversations. Nothing to dislike. Decor a bit oldish but not a problem. Lots of bugs around (like anywhere in that part of the world) so make sure you keep the window shut and use the air con. The television is on a wall unit that sticks out. Both my son and I hit our heads pretty hard. would have liked an iron and board in the room but this wasnt a major issue. Ground floor public rooms need modernising, our bathroom was not completely clean and had thin towels. Nothing!!!. non lakeside rooms dark. There was a strong smell of cleaning products and the decor was a bit tired. Nothing. smoking ..................... Faucet on bathroom sink was hard to operate. Plastic cover that hides nut on faucet would not stay on. Coleslaw served in restaurant was a soggy mound of shredded cabbage. nothing. Was advertised as 'casino' but only slots. Pool/hot tub was closed for the season. :( Located in remote area (some distance from the park) and as a result, not much to do in the evening. No breakfast covered in the price. Expect casino - restaurant is just next to it. Nothing to dislike.
