friendly staff and very helpful. We only had an over night stay at a local family wedding, however the room was very nice and the breakfast very nice the staff were very curteous, something that lacks greatly in many hotels. general ambiance and style of the hotel and value as well!. The overall quality of the Hotel and Facilities were very good. convenience, pleasant room. Staff friendly, good position in town, car park free, breakfast very good.My total stay in the Ship was very good with one or two small matters to sort out.the breakfast was very good. Room much older very shabby toilet was cracked and heavily stained. Taps dripped all night. Too much noice from function room. Towels had holes in them.it was fairly quiet apart from air traffis which is not so bad.Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Parking very good.Food was good. only detrimental comment would be pillows very hard a choice would have been appreciated.room was very hot, bathroom fan noisy. I was priced for Bed Breakfast and Evening meal but told I did not qualify for the evening meal. The toilet flushing mechanism jammed.No light bulb in the bedside table lamp, but I could not be bothered to complain as only there the one night.Decor needs updating. Loud music along with being placed in a room above so we could hear eachrecord in the room, esp since we were told by the Duty Manager they hadrooms in the quiet area free on that night, which is where we shouldhave been with having a 20month old.there was no hot water in the morning owing to an alarm system error. no discount was discussed. just an apology given.But it did feel very corporate which grated against public feel.Rooms require bedroom could have done with basic maintenance and could probably do with updating before long. Too noisy outside in the early hours of the morning. restaurant very good with excellent service and nice food.as above and only one bedside cabinet, I had to use the chair.Did not like having to go back down to reception in order to get wireless access so I didn't bother in the end. Bathroom was a bit of a mess with broken tiles, dirty looking plug holes and I ended up with a lot of water on the bathroom floor after my shower.Booked half board,told at reception that it only included breakfast and that restaurant was full but we could go to Pizza Express across the road to eat.Room was horrible and bed was like a cheap child's bed.very poor room and service.
