Ticking the boxes as good seems a tad unfair, very good would be more apt, and, considering what a country inn can offer, compared to a top country manor house for example, it was excellent. We were delighted with our stay and can recommend it. Nearby Tenbury, whilst not the greatest tourist destination, does have at least three notable features. The view from the bridge into town over the river Teme is nice, as is the Art Deco Regent cinema, but the real treat is the unique Pump Room building.
all reviews » We loved everything about this hotel. It was very comfortable with everything on hand. Ate in the restaurant the three nights we were there and the food was superb, as was the service. Very friendly owners who were knowledgable about the history and surrounding countryside, and always had time to talk to you.Breakfasts were excellent too and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As we pulled up at the hotel a member of staff came on to the car park and asked us if we would like our bags carried in, he the booked us in and took us to our lovely rooms all in about 5 minutes. The hotel is spotlessly clean, warm, friendly and very welcoming, The food is of a very high standard and the bar is great with friendly locals. Used the hotel as a base for visiting the Ludlow Food Festival. Couldn't get any rooms in Ludlow so opted for the Tally Ho Inn, proved to be a very good choice, friendly staff, good food and good beer, very well appointed bedrooms. Fabulous.....the best place I've stayed at. Comfortable and extremely friendly and welcoming. Immaculate rooms and superb home cooked food. Would highly recommend. This was my first visit and won't be my last. Confortable clean warm rooms,with plentyof space. Size of bed was fantastic. Meals in the restauraunt were fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food and drink. Staff and owners could not be more friendly and helpful. Stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant which was very good. The disabled facilities were excellent (when they were found). Made very welcome as soon as we walked in to check in then chatted to the locals had a lovely meal. only stayed 1 night but a great 1 night it was fab views from where we had our meal. The Tally Ho was situated very rural but a delightful old country inn. Staff very friendly. The breakfast was the best we had during our trip also commented on this on departure. Breakfast. Leaving!. Tenbury Wells town on a Saturday afternoon is not very lively,most of the shops were shut and only found one pub that was open. Nothing. The disabled bathroom entrance was behind doors and there was no sign to this effect. Nothing!. Our stay was just one night and in that time we did not find anything negative about the Tally Ho Inn. Everything in dining room was stickey to the touch. Place mats and tables and chairs. Too many dead flies in conservatory, health hazzard!. pillows were a little soft, difficult to find where you need to go on first approach. the entrance hall was empty, no bell and no sign directing you into the pub, just had to keep going til we found it. The room could have been cleaner. It wasn't off-putting, but looked like it hadn't been dusted or hoovered for some time. The full English breakfast. Far to greasy even for a cooked breakfast, it had clearly all been cooked in the same pan.Which is a shame. I had lunch there which was great. Nothing at all. The key cards were difficult to operate on the bedroom doors, and it wasn't just me!. The hotel rooms don't have a desk/table. There was nothing that I did not like about our 3-nights' stay !. Dining room could do with a slight revamp, but we were happy with it. Nothing. Disturbed sleep due to pump noise whenever any toilet in the hotel was flushed. Nothing. Nothing. The pub/restaurant could do with lick of paint and updating. Nothing to report. Nothing. Noise from pipes in ceiling of bedroom, happened all the time. The bar and dining area were very shabby and in need of a lot of TLC, going from the bar area to the accommodation area was like going from grot to very pleasant...most strange. generally thought the location was in need of a good more thorough clean. The rooms were just about adequate but the pub and dining room leave a lot to be desired. Sticky tables in dining room is not what you expect. Bathroom sink too small to wash in. Quilt too small for bed (2 single beds pushed together). Bathroom ceiling stained with damp. Staff slow to take order for breakfast (waited 20 minutes to be served). Restaurant area looked tired. Cobwebs in bedroom.
