We stayed two nights as we had to be in the area. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. The pub was busy which gave it a really nice atmosphere and log fires were great. We had dinner both nights and shared main courses which they split onto two pates in the kitchen and were very generous with the vegetables & chips. Breakfast was fresh and excellent. All the food is sourced locally and excellent quality. They also make their own jam and preserves. The bar had four draught.

Fantastic place to stay if you want to visit towns, cities and NT properties in Hereford, Shropshire and Worcestershire. All the rooms are tastefully decorated, very clean and very well equipped. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful (including Waldo the rescue dog) and work hard to help customers relax and enjoy themselves. All the food is delicious, from the breakfast and evening m. For in late but that was ok cuz the owners were very nice. The rooms were great one room had a slanted floor which gave the place character! The shower, bed ,and desk were on platforms so they were straight:-) everything was clean and the restraunt was yummy! So yummy we bought treats for the road! We also left a little later and the owners were very sweet about it! They had a fun pub dog and enjoyed conversations with the owners Will definately return! Ps the factory didnt oppose as much i. Lovely hotel, fantastic restaurant (was totally not expecting a master chef, my leek and mushroom strudel was to swoon over), wonderful service. Chris went above and beyond when we discovered in the morning that we had a flat, in helping my partner change it so we could get on the road. Contrary to some other reports, the shower was easy to use and efficient and the nearby "depot" was not noticeable. the accomodation was superb - top class and very good quality. The room was very interesting withj all the different levels. The pub itself was also very "olde world" with a real fire. Staff very polite and helpful. I loved the decor, the friendly staff and the food was lovely.The bedroom was very tasteful retaining the old world character and charm yet with all the modern amenities and lashings of hot water from the electric shower. Stayed three nights, waited quite a while to be served at one breakfast however we would certainly return again. lovely weekend away thank you. Perhaps a tad pricey, but worth it. I can't think of one thing the Rose and Crown exceeded our expectations. Nothing. Having to wait nearly 3/4 hour to be served breakfast - it may be cooked to order but there is a limit to what waiting time is acceptable. Being an old building it was not able to be soundproofed and every little sound carried but overall I loved my stay there. The mattress was a bit lumpy. The surrounding Kerry factory was a bit noisy but the double glazing was very effective in blocking out the noise. Storage of clothes, especially for for nine nights, was very limited. I didn't sleep too well because of the noise from the adjacent Kerry's factory. We had windows open because it was warm in the room but didn't discover air con until the morning!!. There is nothing we disliked!... Maybe the fact we had only booked one night!. Nothing. nothing. There is a factory that surrounds this beautiful inn, and they work through the night, it's very noisy, so we had very little sleep. When we mentioned this is morning we were told that's why our room was cheaper!. Next to a large dairy complex but not noisy. A very minor personal dislike was that it was a busy pub on the main road (google showed it elsewhere!) and no garden. The only problem we felt was the sloping floor to the bedroom and headroom height in entering the ensuite, but appreciate the fact that it is an old, but interesting property. Minor gripes - room was a bit warm and a fair bt of traffic noise. But, it's on a junction so you have to expect that. noise from nearby factory. Nothing. cant think of anything. There was nothing to dislike. Room was a little warm. Manageress a little stern but still worth a visit. Just a little noisy during night due 24/7 factory operations next door otherwise excellent. Shock of factory behind - but in the event it caused no disturbance or inconvenience. position of pub. Noise of adjacent factory!. Very little to do in the evening localy. Nothing significant. service at dinner. Walking into the bar to check in.
